Twice round the clock is the only novel written by Billie Houston who was a professional dancer. The novel has all the ingredients which were the characteristics of mysteries written during that period that is the golden age of detective fiction. Thus what we have here is a classic setup a country house, closed circle of suspects , guests at the country house being cut off from the rest off the world due to heavy downpour and a murder victim amongst them.What distinguishes it from run off the mill novels is that billie Houston can actually write. She produces a novel which is engrossing,entertaining,humorous, poignant with an ending that delivers an emotional gut punch. Highly recommended.
