I have been looking to upgrade to better quality water colours for awhile and have been doing some pretty rigourous research. I finally narrowed it down to three brands - Sennelier, Daniel Smith and Schmincke. I wanted a pan set as it's just easier for me to work with. So that ruled out Daniel Smith for the time being. The Schmincke are way too expensive for me. So that left the Sennelier. I read everything I could find on the Sennelier paints from reviews to technical details. I was impressed with everything I read from how the paints are made to how exquisitely they layer. However, before investing in the larger paint sets of 24 or 48 colours, I wanted to try the paints out first. No one from.my art class had a set that I could look at. They mostly stick to winsor newton because it's easier to source the brand from a local shop here. So this little Sennelier set was the perfect palette to experiment with. The colours are rich but not too opaque thankfully. The paint flows beautifully and blends like a dream. As other reviewers have said on many other sites, a little really does go a long way. My washes have never looked so wonderful. I love these paints. But note that I have only ever used student grade watercolour so maybe all I'm noticing is the difference in quality. Others who have used artist grade paints would be better equipped to judge whether or not these really hold their own.The brush is a rigger and really quite good, but it's tiny and your hand will cramp within 5 minutes of using it. My hands are really small and they still hurt. The box itself is really compact, a little thicker than a stack of playing cards, but ten times lighter. You won't even notice the weight if you're holding it for a long time. The palette that the paints sit in is just a little better than flimsy and I feel like it could deteriorate give enough time in the humid climate that I live in.Overall, I am very happy I bought this and will definitely be buying one of the larger sets.

Excellent watercolour set
I have been using this set since 2017 and have done many pocket sized paintings. The colours are extremely good. It is very handy to carry so it can easily be a permanent item in your backpack. The size of the box is roughly the length and breadth of a credit card (Length 9.4 cms, Width 6.2 cms, depth 2.2 cms). The available eight colours (half pans) are more than sufficient and it can long last if your paintings are smaller.Pros: Compact size, sturdy tin box, long lasting excellent colours, you can refill the tubs from your tubes.Cons: The inner pan tray is made of cheap flimsy material. Though this flaw does not affect the flow of an artist, removable half pans would have made this box a far better asset. Also the brush that comes with the set is hopeless. I started to carry a round brush that can hold a lot of water. This set is otherwise worth buying and extremely useful.

Good 👍
Very small and compact which is great. I used it for outdoors paintings and felt very comfortable using it. It's easy to travel with. The colors are vibrant and well pigmented. Some colors granulated (burnt umber especially). Small amount of color on brush goes a long way. Very good for glancing. The layers look beautiful and flat. The brush that comes in the box is useless. The holding area of the brush melted and stained the box a bit. There is no mixing palette or space to mix the colors. I mixed the colors on the inside of the lid.If you have been using very basic water colors and want to try some good quality ones I would highly recommend this mini set from sennelier.

Full review with pics :SENELLIER WATERCOLOUR
I just absolutely love these colours. They are the best beginner upgrade set for any person who wants to try artist quality watercolor paints.COMPARITVE PICS OF other brands with sennelier posted as well.Pros:1. Paints are luscious and soft textured. Said to contain honey and hence the smooth texture.2. Rich colours that are slightly transparent which is what you want from quality watercolours3.Wonderful blending4. LightfastCons:1. The paints aren't contained in individual plastic pans but in an overall thin plastic molding which is poor considering the great quality of the paints.2. Maybe it's just the piece I got, but the paints were sticking to the lid3. I don't find the lid to be or even have a dedicated palette.4. The transparent lid is a flimsy plastic. It should have been at least an acrylic grade plastic.

Go fot it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely loved the watercolor set. I have always used camel and camlin brand all my life, this is hugely expensive comepered to thosebut its of a complete different type.I will jot the pros and cons of thisPROS:1> The colors are very rich and vibrant, if you wet brush and use directly from pan you'd not know what to do with so much pigment.2> The colors are bit sticky types and look glossy as compared to the cakey/powery round pelettes we have most seen all our lives.3> Its a bliss and therapy to work with these colors even as a novice, you'd not regret a moment if you buy these.4> Just a tiny bit of pigment is enough to color an entire A4 size page. It's so vibrant.CONS:1>The half-pans are kept in a flimsy container.2>Theres a transparent window in the top of the BOX, you'd not be able to use it as mixing palatte.3>No white!!!that means you'll have to buy white tube to make pastel colors.4>too expensive!!!only 8 half pans came at a price of 999.
