KRYDEX Laser Cut Shoulder Strap H Harness and Back Strap with Quick Release Buckles for MK3 MK4 MK5 Chest Rig

Bought it to upgrade my TAPS rig and it fit great, it's more comfy than the issued one and has solid buckles. Laser cut sections are nice for radio/hydro routing. GET IT DIRTY!!!! Then wash it in a bucket with shaved felnaptha, then get it dirty again. Straight out of the package, it is almost too... bright I guess? Toned down just a bit after the aforementioned method, it is right on the money and has held up quite well with numerous multi-day field exercises.

I used this in a manner it was not designed for - to turn a triple kangaroo MOLLE pouch (three pistol magazine pouches on top of three rifle magazine pouches) into a mini chest rig. Six plastic buckles are included. The two for the top have closed loops. The four for the sides have loops with open slots. The horizontal strips on the back of MOLLE gear will fit perfectly into the open slot buckles. The thicker vertical MOLLE mounting straps with the snaps will not fit through the closed loop buckles, but can be passed through the laser-cut slots on the harness. I'm a fairly big guy - 6'4, 255 lbs, 49" chest - and with the small size of the pouch I used for this application, the length of the harness straps was EXACTLY right at full extension. When attached to a wider placard, as intended, it should allow several inches of adjustment for even someone my size. Material is lightweight but sturdy, and should be quite durable.

It works with issued TAPs and doesn’t twist as easily due to the better seated “H” harness. Although, the issued “Y” harness really isn’t that bad either. However, this is worth the cost as its materials and stitching are well done. Made in China isn’t supportive of US small businesses but they’re too expensive while this is affordable. The materials and manufacturing have gotten much better in “quality assurance/quality control” of certain products in China over the past 15 years.

Not compatible with Army issued TAP. A little bright in color.

This harness did what I wanted it to. I’m using it on a surplus TAP. The buckles aren’t great on the chest rig. I would replace as many as you can with surplus USMC buckles, but other than that, it’s pretty good for the money.
