Brutality
Please do not buy this coffee, the shy, nocturnal animals used in this process are trapped, fed only coffee beans, kept in tiny cages, and it is no exaggeration to say that they live tortured lives. This is animal abuse at its worst. There was a time when only digested beans found in the wild were used, but now the demand is so high that they trap them and imprison them for their short agonized lives. I have seen them up close and looked in their terrified eyes, and it is heartbreaking. Nothing can be worth this, and don't take my word for it. Do a Google search, all of us who spend time in Bali and have seen their suffering firsthand can attest to it.

Favorite of mine
Pros:This is my most favorite poop-flavored coffee ever.Cons:Expensive, but it costs a lot of money to find the Vietnamese farmers crazy enough to harvest these from weasel poop. Seriously... are they just chasing them around waiting for the poop?

Good Cuppa Joe
I bought a pound of this and it was good, but kind of expensive. so I bought a couple of dwarf coffee plants, a civet cat, and a litter box, but it didn't work out so well. The cat won't eat the coffee berries and won't use the litter box. I have to say though, even without the coffee beans the cat crap makes a nice cuppa joe.

Nothing special
I decided to treat myself and finally try this, and it simply “meh” at best. Smells good brewing, but it’s just coffee upon sip. Additionally, I paid for the 17.6 ounce and I weighed when it arrived. Even with the big bag it was in, it was 15.5 ounces, so maybe 13 ounces of actual coffee. If that. A coffee this expensive should at least not be cheating you out of precious ounces!!!!It’s a first and a last for me.

Civet Cat Suffering for Fecal Luxury Coffee
Please Google "End Civet Cat Suffering" and you will learn all about how civet cats are suffering for your fecal cup of joe. Civet cats — solitary wild animals — are being seized from their natural habitat, shoved into barren cages, all so some people can enjoy a cup of Kopi Luwak, the world's most expensive coffee.Originally civets would have naturally selected, digested and excreted coffee cherries, which made — in some circles — a highly prized coffee with a unique flavor. Today civets suffer from mental and physical problems, living in tiny cages, in factory farm-like conditions to produce this coffee. Please sign the petition to end this cruelty. I wouldn't trust buying this product.

mmm mmm mmmmmmm...
Make no mistake..once a coffee bean is consumed by an animal and excreted via the opposite avenue, it ceases to be a coffee bean; it is now simply excrement. That being said...I have no regrets about having saved up for 5 months for this 16oz bag of delightfully intoxicating excrement. This is by far the best $399 I've ever spent on excrement. My local Klatch Coffee and Intelligentsia ain't got excrement on these! I wouldn't hesitate saving up for another 5 months for another pound of this kitty litter except I lost my girlfriend at the time because I stopped taking her out just to have money for the Kopi Luwak.

Very inconsistent
I raved about Kopi after my first tasting last year. It was smooth and rich with a wonderful caramel finish I had never experienced before. Since then I have had five other batches from two different vendors. Each of these later coffees were very disappointing. One vendor even sent a replacement bag (worth $80) after I gave a negative review to "renew your faith in Kopi". But I have never had a Kopi Luwak as good as that first one. When I am going to spend this amount of money on coffee, or anything else for that matter, I'm going to need to know I am getting consistent quality of product and that is definitely not the case here. I just received a 100 gram bag as a gift from a friend and it was the most disappointing of all. I get better Sumatran coffee from my local roaster for $12 lb. I'm glad to say I've had the experience of trying the most expensive coffee in the world, but I won't be buying any more.

This is the dumbest product ever. Who even buys this crap.
This is not "ethically" and wildly produced. The civet's are forced to only eat coffee cherries and are kept in cages for humans to have "luxury" coffee. Makes me sick. Stop extorting animals for human gain. Quit being "trendy" and by regular coffee. SMH.
