Unmatched convenience
Love this product!Door unlocked as I walk up to it and automatically locks after 10 minutes. (both are programming options)Finger print biometric is great, and programmable code is also a good back up.This product is also keyed incase of a battery failure.I can unlock the door through HomeKit from anywhere, if necessary.Install was easy enough for a handy person.Took me a while to figure out some of the programming options, mainly how to program the code.Works great with Apple HomeKit which is the reason I chose this product to begin with.

Avoid for Ring Security Base Station Z Wave integration Lacking Key Features
I was looking to integrate smart deadbolt into several places in my home.I have Ring Security Alarm base station that is Z Wave compatible.Ring has a list of deadbolts that will work. I wanted one that would integrate with my existing security system and allow me to lock and unlock the door with disarm.Yale locks were the only ones that I could find that integrated fingerprint and showed compatibility with Ring. Little did I know they placed an asterisk next to the touch models.Ring did little to document any issues or incompatibles. I purchased the Yale smart lock. Before installing it I setup the deadbolt out of box and connected it to my Ring Alarm.Looks like the “mode settings” in the app for the lock are missing. The mode settings allow you to integrate lock and unlock with the deadbolt. So as of now only thing that can be done from the Ring app is lock and unlock this overpriced deadbolt? Thanks Ring and Yale for leaving the customer guessing why. I ended up replacing the lock with Eufy C220 that does everything I need including auto lock and integration into Alexa and at half the price! I highly recommend skipping this one until the Ring and Yale properly work on integration of the touch models.

Great ZWave/Fingerprint Lock
Bought several of these (fingerprint:ZWave no-key) to replace several 10 year old Schlage Camelot locks that were the older S0 or S1 protocol. They still worked great but were getting old from a tech standpoint, battery updates, etc. These newer S2 ZWave lock modules (you can put whatever modules you want in these which is a phenomenal design) and 1 leak detector were the last non-S2 in my home. For initial setup, you need the Yale Access app. After initial setup, all lock codes work in (for me) SmartThings. I get all the same features I'm used to with a ZWave lock. The one thing that tripped me up during initial setup was the fingerprint. You need to set people up in order, meaning, if you setup dad's fingerprint, setup his code in SmartThings. Then setup mom's fingerprint and code, and so on. The "slot" must match. Once this is done, you really don't need the Yale Access app and you get all your lock/unlock/code management in SmartThings or wherever you manage your ZWave devices.Installation was easy and the no-key option looks great from the outside as it's very low profile. So far, I would recommend these.

Yale Biometric Smart Lock
This lock with biometrics is glitchy. Doesn't fully integrate with Ring for Arming/Disarming with code. Sometimes doesn't work with codes registered in the Ring App. I tested it for install at a customers' house and decided to go with a standard code lock instead. Went to return it, just purchased less than 6 weeks ago, but no longer eligible for return. Has potential but I would not recommend to buy it.

Perfect
It works great and so easy to get in using my fingerprint. I haven’t had any issues with it plus I’ve had multiple added for access so far so good.

New Steel Door
My Yale Z-wave plus was ordered in oil-rubbed bronze. The steel door color is called midnight; however it is oil-rubbed bronze. This is a perfect color match, and the dark screen gives the door a modern look.

Overall great experience but 4 - stars
I have to admit that the unit is mechanically well designed, the strike plate had large enough hole while the deadbolt has slight tappers geometry to tolerate certain degrees of misalignment. The user manual for mechanical insulation part is clearly documented, A perfect fits into the cut out of my previous lock, except for the strike plate, Ho requires a much deeper depth than the classical deadbolt which I have to cut deeper to avoid the jammed error. From electrical engineering perspective, the lock is also well designed specifically the fingerprint sensor is fairly accurate and frustration free. None of the family members had ever had any issues with the fingerprint reader yet when it requires 12 recorded fingerprints, we knew that this fingerprint reader will be accurate. The self her experience made me to not giving it a five star. My experience with the entry code set up was a virus frustrating. At first the entry code set up, (only see finger print options) It is just not available in the guest list menu open having an hour call with their technicians we had to factory reset the lock which then enabled the entry code set up. Well troubleshooting the rain connection issues I realized that it was the entry code management under the Z wave module disabled the entry code management from the guest list, You don’t have to factory reset the lock to reenable the entry code management feature. For that reason, I don’t believe he is technician are well trained, and educated about their product, also average service attitude.Lassie and most importantly for Ring users, The Z wave model comes with this specific lock does not support food. Alarm function with the ring system. Specifically, the mode setting under the lock in Ring. You cannot arm or disarm the security system with the yellow lock. You can only remotely lock or unlock through ring base station.
