This pocket knife is fantastic! It’s compact, lightweight, and incredibly sharp right out of the box. The blade holds its edge well, and I’ve used it for everything from opening packages to light cutting tasks around the house. The ergonomic handle makes it comfortable to grip, and it’s small enough to carry in my pocket without feeling bulky. The locking mechanism feels secure, so I never have to worry about the blade closing unexpectedly. For the price, it’s a great value, and it’s become my go-to tool for everyday carry. I got the Vosteed Raccoon in blue micarta with the button actuated top liner lock. The blade opens and closes very smoothly. The lock is crisp and solid. It looks great, with a very useful blade shape.This is not "just a button lock". To me, it feels more premium than my Benchmade Mini Griptilian, so this is a great value. I do wonder why it is $6 more than the crossbar lock Raccoon, because it seems like that system is more complicated and should cost more to manufacture. Still, I think it's an easy choice to make, and I wouldn't be surprised if this lock replaced liner locks and crossbars in a lot of designs in the coming years.

The Vosteed Raccoon replaced my $300 EDC! Not just because it's new. I've gotten a dozen new knives that are nice but the Racoon actually replaced a knife that cost 4 times as much. I like 14C28N and Vosteed's heat treatment is great. The blade came centered and sharp (a few minutes of stropping made it scary sharp). Lightweight (3oz.), grippy micarta scales, the backliner lock (button lock), ball bearings and perfect detent make this the most fidget friendly knife I have (over 100). Vosteed quality is visually obvious (fit and finish), but when you use the knife, you'll FEEL the quality.

All around this knife was nice, opens well, locks well (more on that in a minute) blade is sharp. Overall weight and handle feels good, micarta is grippy.My only complaint is the hole for the button lock is wayyyy too big. It looks sloppy IMO.The button lock itself interesting. Its actually a button actuated liner lock. The button doesn't interface with the blade itself, only an internal liner the button is fixed too. It functions fine but also not a true button lock.

The media could not be loaded. I’m honestly not sure where to start. First, I’ll start by mentioning that I bought this knife, and was not asked to write a review for it. I’ve been using this knife as my EDC over the past two weeks, it has quickly become my favorite knife to carry! It is extremely sharp, opens and closes seamlessly and has the perfect textured micarta handles. This is a game changer! My favorite part of the knife is definitely the top liner lock. It’s so easy to use, and is MUCH stronger than your typical button lock. I work a blue collar job that requires a blue collar knife, the Vosteed raccoon gets the job done!

Hands down my favorite sub $80 knife I bought this year (bought over 20 knives.) Detent is amazing, love 14C28N as a budget steel as it's tough and sharpens easily. Micarta handles are very nice and grippy. Thumbstuds are awesome. Normal button locks cannot compete with a top liner lock. Great size for EDX
