Perfect size, tight fitting lid. Plastic lids are annoying since it takes 2-3 tries to screw it on correctly. The metal lids close so much nicer. The clear glass is great and easy to watch progress when pickling, which is why I bought this. Very Happy with this jar.

This review is for a wide mouth gallon glass jar. It is good quality with a metal screw on lid with a silicone/rubber gasket to make it leak proof. The glass jar is fairly heavy with thick glass. I used it for making Limoncello. If you are looking for a large size glass jar, then I can recommend this one. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this one gallon jar for iced tea. Got tired of the cheap quality glass jars with a spigot that always fail. This jar will not crack when you pour boiling water in it. And there’s no cheap spigot that fails over time. I pour 8 cups of super hot water into it, let four family size Lipton tea bags steep for 5 minutes. Then I add 8 cups of cold water and a half cup of sugar. Boom, fresh iced tea. Well worth the purchase. The lid is metal, not plastic. So you’ll get years of use out of it.

I bought this to be the 'hoard' for a squirrel feeder. The squirrels can see the food, and we can see them. I am sure it works much better than plastic would as the little heathens would chew right through plastic. The jar is the perfect fit for my homemade feeder. Very pleased.
