Good value
V good for monitoring steps and cycling etc. Easy to set up. Not convinced about tracking of sleep. Battery life exceptional. Quite large in size

Bought a fitness band, got a very smart watch.
Astounding value for money.First off - my only negative comment. I bought the silver model to get away from the anodyne black of most other fitness trackers. Although the watch band is described as grey, it's near as dammit white, which looked a bit girly on my manly wrist, a shame they don't offer the silver unit with a black band. No probs, I bought a velcro replacement from a third party supplier. Although Xiaomi claim to sell replacement straps, could I find any on their site?Mild whinge over - replacing the strap was very easy, just a couple of small buttons which need a fingernail to press. The fitting is identical to the Redmi watch 4, which increases the choice of replacement straps. In fact the pack of two I bought was only shown as fitting the Redmi 4.Battery life - Excellent, it lasts me for 4 days with everything turned on except the always on display. This includes a one hour outdoor cycle every day using the built in GPS. I suspect the battery would be good for a week without the GPS. Recharge from the low battery warning at 20% is about 45 minutes.GPS accuracy - for me absolutely spot on. I live in a country area, so no buildings in the way. The track when shown on Google maps is spot on.Display - Bright, vibrant, and sharp, even in sunlight, only struggling slightly on a very bright day. Also large enough to comfortably operate most functions without using the phone. I wear reading glasses (Strength 2) and even without these I can read time and the larger widgets comfortably. No 'home' button on the unit - some reviews mark this down, but I don't find it a problem at all. Within a couple of days the very responsive swipes just become second nature, and the lack of a physical button can only increase water and dust resistance.Connection reliability - Totally reliable. No dropouts at all so far. I have a Redmi phone but I have no idea whether that is a factor.Sensor accuracy - All seem pretty good. I suspect the step count might be under reading slightly but as I am waiting in hope for the NHS to get its act together my walk is not normal at present. Sleep monitoring, pulse and Sp02 all look accurate.Software - to my mind this can be the Achille's heel of fitness monitors.Fortunately the Mi Fitness app is excellent, a doddle to download from Playstore and set up with just the normal phone settings to adjust. There is a great choice of watch faces, not just in number, but in variety, ranging from gaudy colours for 4 year olds through to quite classy looking analogues.Virtually everything is customisable, from the order of apps on the upswipe through to the 4 widget groups on the side swipe. For me, being able to swipe sideways once and click straight into the outdoor cycling mode is brilliant. The exercise results are impressive. I particularly like the dual graph of speed and heart rate, a very useful tool. The only thing I have an issue with is the recovery rate of 36 hours after a one hour ride!Despite what some reviews say, it does work with Alexa if that's your bag baby - I just don't see the point.Syncing - Calendar, emails, and wossapp all work well. Enough content is shown to know whether they are treated with the contempt they deserve. The software also syncs with Google fit. I find this is useful as my cycling track then displays on Google maps.To sum up - for me this is not a fitness tracker, it is a full blown Smartwatch, and slimmer than most, with no need to pay an extortionate monthly fee for full software. The only unavailable feature which I might conceivably find useful is NFC. This is available on the Chinese version so it is likely the hardware is present but disabled by the OS. To me this seems a strange omission. Personally I find it easier to keep a card in my pocket but I can see it would be a deal breaker for some.

It's ok
I've got used to it now, so actually prefer it to my Fitbit - but only because I've got used to it.Sadly, it doesn't directly connect to any usual apps. So I input the info manually.

Disappointed
I chose this because "Which' Magazine recommended, saying it was about 1/3 of the price of the best fitness trackers but nearly as good. I only require a few simple functions and thought it would be ideal - I was wrong. It was straightforward to set up, which was as well as it had no instructions with it. It looked elegant, but the pale grey strap started to discolour within days. Also, it was increasingly difficult to get it to show the time - the display was very fickle. Worse, one evening it got stuck on a function I didn't recognise and I gave up and went to bed still wearing it. It woke me up buzzing x3 at about 4am! It went back and I will buy a branded one!
