Great product, shipping, and customer service
This is my first shoulder holster system. I bought it to comfortably carry my full size, 10mm 1911 and conceal in a jacket when appropriate. My gun, a Rock Island Armory "GI Standard" 10mm 1911, fit perfectly. I do not expect that railed 1911s would be as smooth a draw, if fitting at all. My single stack magazines fit perfectly in the ammo carrier, but double-stack magazines probably won't fit. Basically, if you're rocking any kind of old school plain-jane single stack 1911 then this holster will fit everything perfectly. You're probably here considering it as an alternative to the Galco VHS, like I was. I have never used a Galco, but the fact that their (already quite expensive) vertical shoulder holster system does not include tiedowns unless purchased separately really put me off. Read around and you'll see how necessary tiedowns are to draw and carry smoothly. Tsk tsk, Galco. My MASC holster included tiedowns and I really don't get how much better a shoulder holster system can get. It's absolutely worth the money.I had help adjusting the rig to my body, and I can't imagine having to do it alone. It took an hour with another pair of eyes and hands to make it perfect. Shipping was fast via Fedex and I was provided a tracking number via message from the seller. On my first outing from home with the rig, I spent the night in a hunting cabin. I took my rig off for the night, and simply threw the rig over my carseat on the way home. Many hours later, when home, I realized I misplaced the magazine carrier tiedown. Left it at the cabin, cleaning crew threw it away, and there was no replacement product available online. I contacted the sellers, asking to buy a replacement, and they responded that they would have a replacement shipped to me at no charge the following day. Wow! That's customer service! I have waited until the replacement arrived, and I continued to wear the rig for a bit before writing this review. As for the rig itself, when adjusted properly, it's very comfortable and looks fantastic. The leather is gorgeous. I am a shorter guy with an athletic build, 5'7 165lbs, and I struggle a little bit to effectively conceal the holster and ammo carrier. While wearing a loose Hawaiian shirt over the rig, a gun-friendly friend didn't notice until I mentioned it after 10 minutes of standing conversation. Later, a police officer in a grocery store had it figured out as soon as I walked in. I think a taller person would have a much easier time, but it's something to consider if you're smaller. It's also summer, and winter clothes would make it a breeze for any size person.I will be recommending MASC holsters to friends and family, and buying more rigs for other handguns for years to come.

Poor Design & Poor Customer Service
[Note: I have 40 years of experience wearing a shoulder holster.] At first glance, this shoulder holster looks like a great value for the money. While well-built, there are serious design flaws. The belt tie-down on the holster is several inches too short, forcing the end of the holster to align with the bottom of your belt - defeats the concealment performance (needs to ride above the hip); also the belt tie-down constantly pops loose, again because it's not adjustable. The retention strap will not snap and will not keep the gun securely in place. The magazine carrier belt tie-down strap is useless and not user-friendly. I contacted Masc about these issues via email, but after 11 days have not gotten a response. I can fix the issues myself, but Masc should address these issues!

Poor Quality and Design
I am not impressed for the price. For about $60 more you can get the Galco leather rig that is superior. The MASC's vertical 1911 holster rig felt cheap. The leather harness felt stiff and it was like it was make of compressed cardboard. Now about the holster itself, it was like they sent the wrong one for a 1911 style gun. The fit was awful, and I mean AWFUL. The gun did not fit snug, and the hold down strap compressed the secondary safety that is on the back side of the grip (a real safety concern). It is like the holster was designed for another style of handgun. I returned my MASC made holster, and used the refunded money to get the Galco made 1911 vertical shoulder rig. Again, Galco's rig is superior. You get what you pay for and you only pay for quality once.

my thoughts on over all unit
the pistol holster and magazine holsters are sturdily made. The magazine holsters for a 5" 1911 however are awful short given standard for a full size 1911 is an 8 round mag, so I ASSUMED the mag holster would accommodate 8-10 round mags. These look like the are sized for sub compact to 8 round, I will have to make adjustments to hold my 10 round magazines. The straps seem a bit thin and I am not typically a fan of plastic parts like the loops on an important tool holder so those will have to be changed out. I suppose if nothing else I at least have a basic pattern to make one like I want. All of this said for the price if you have some skills not a bad item but definitely not a professional daily unit either........again for the price as such
