out of package they were nice length, after first washing these shirts shrunk to kids size almost, I was very unhappy with these shirts

A-shirts is an expression that goes way back: used to mean Athletic shirts, as opposed to T-shirts. This was before anyone called the sleeveless version Tank shirts.

Q: Why would you have a size chart that is waist size only for under shirts???

I don't know the why of it, but I can tell you that it comes out accurate.
