Great chilli powder

A new spice is always an experiment but this is a good place to start.
We have not yet made a barbecue sauce with this but have mixed a rub. My wife found it tricky to apply our old rub without leaving hot spots. Ancho with a smoky aroma along with less heat was a great alternative. We intend to stay with it.The same should apply to pre-mixed chili powder which my wife considers to be too hot and I find too salty. A custom mix based on ancho is our next project.I selected this brand partly based on size. The competition did not offer a size between the three-ounce bottles (too small) and the 20-ounce jugs (too large).

Delicious!
My local grocery store was all sold out of ancho chili powder, and I needed it in order to make my husband’s favorite meal to celebrate him coming home after a few months out of the country. This seasoning came in just in time for me to have dinner ready when he got home, and everything turned out delicious! I was happy I still got to support a family owned business as well.
