TWENTY TWO HUNDRED SOULS ON BOARD
It doesn't matter how many times you watch this epic there is always amoment you don't remember -Salvage and explorer captain and his crew hope on this occasion to locatethe safe that is believed to house the necklace holding the diamond knownas 'The Heart of the Ocean'they find the safe, however there is no diamond within but they find apicture of a girl wearing the priceless gem.when the picture is shown on television 'Rose' now 101 years of age recognisesthe picture drawn by 'Jack Dawson' 84 years ago on the day the 'Titanic'floundered.'Rose' and 'Jack' are of course fictional characters used as a vehicle by'James Cameron' to tell the tale. This is 'Rose Dewitt Bukata's' story, a 17 year old girl who's life seemsto be planned for her by the man it is intended for her to marry 'Caledon''Cal'' Hockley'when things get too much for 'Rose' she contemplates 'suicide' however 'Jack'realizes her intention and seems to have taken her back from the brink, sheslips, 'Jack' saves her.to thank 'Jack' 'Cal' invites the young chancer for a dinner date in theluxurious restaurant in upper-class ....'Cal' intends to belittle 'Jack'....not quite the way it goes down in truth.a romance develops between the unlikely couple.the film graphically portrays both the story of the couple during the finalhours, along with the events leading up to and including the shipsfinal moment.it tells of the panic, despair, bravery and self sacrifice, the ship of2200 souls trying to find space on board the inadequacy's of the life boats.even had the boats been filled to capacity around half of those on boardwould of perished in the event only around 700 escaped, the thinking ofcourse was that the lifeboats would never be needed, after all the ship wasan unsinkable giant.ok, the film has many historical flaws, however the special effects on boardfrom the time the ship hits the 'iceberg' through to the final moments areindeed a spectacle to behold.probably the most expensive movie ever made costing around $200,000,000, theyneed not have worried as it grossed around $658,672,302 up to mid-2012.....a pretty good investment.of course it has made one or two journey's to the world cinemas along withit's 'VHS' release, followed by 'DVD' followed by a special-edition DVD releasewith a bucket full of extras included since when it's 2012 (100 year anniversary)on 'Blu-Ray' and 3-D.....along with even more extras ( the format upgrade isbrilliant )always worth another viewing, there are always moments you had forgotten or missed.of course many versions of this film have been made down the years, for me, perhapsthe most impressive of those was the '1958' film 'A NIGHT TO REMEMBER' althoughfilmed in black and white and obviously lacking todays use of special effects itreally is worth seeing.we always knew that 'James Cameron's 'TITANIC' would be transferred to this formatalong with the bonus of a 3-D version, me, I had hoped that the film would be releasedas an extended version which included the deleted scenes......of course that couldstill happen at some stage ?( films such as this are always worth re-visiting )There is a shed-load of extras with the 3-D box set, including the deleted scenes,in which there are references to the 'Californian' a ship that initially wasn't sofar away as the eventual rescue vessel (just felt, the relevance of this should havebeen include in the theatrical version and subsequently on it's DVD and Blu-Ray release)Also thought the alternative ending was 'pure -class' would have been happy to have thatas an alternative to the released version.

There was room for Jack on the door 😞
There was clearly enough room for Jack on the door at the end of the movie. And Rose tells him she’ll never let go before immediately dumping his ass to the bottom of the ocean. Bad form

Does NOT play on UK Blue-Rays
Rookie mistake I guess, this does NOT work on UK blue-ray players! I haven’t tried PlayStations (as I don’t have one) but never the less, do not purchase if you are from the UK

Doesn’t work for UK. Not even on PS4.
