Rich, dark, and chocolatey. Makes for a wonderful and refreshing espresso.
I am pleasantly impressed with this Espresso 57 coffee from Davidoff. I have used it both an espresso machine and an AeroPress and found that it works well in both, although you do get slightly more out of it in an espresso machine (note, I did not try it with the new Flow Control filter cap for the AeroPress, which I would think could make a difference here). The coffee is finely ground and well roasted. I was worried that it would be too roasted and maybe taste bitter or burnt, but actually I think the roast is nice, providing rich and deep characters to the flavor. It truly does taste dark and chocolatey. The coffee is vacuum sealed in a foil pouch that I expect will keep for a while (I’ve gotten other coffee more often than not where the vacuum seal doesn’t hold, but the method Davidoff uses seems better). The pouches are not resealable, so I just put mine in a resealable bag to keep it fresh (not like I’m going to drink an entire pouch in one go). The espresso machine that I have access to sometimes doesn’t like a grind that is too fine and it will struggle to make coffee, but this grind is about perfect for that machine striking a good balance that brings great flavor and body, yet doesn’t leave the machine working too hard.

Fine Aroma, Fine Taste
My first impression upon opening opening DAVIDOFF coffee was the absolute perfection of the packaging of this product. I knew it would be fresh, well preserved and well cared for. It came from a place of love. The grind was fine….very fine. I love a fine grind in coffee. It implies a strong, robust flavor. The aroma was very nice. The texture of this cup was very smooth, actually velvety. BUT…..yes, there is a but. I like my coffee to taste pure. Unadulterated. This coffee, to my taste, has an underlying flavor which, probably, designer coffees take pride in. It is not a discernible flavor. I suppose it is a fruit flavor of some kind. It masks the flavor of pure coffee. And, it lingers in the mouth as a subtle aftertaste. It is present, like a mild dessert coffee, an after dinner coffee.I would not say “no” to drinking it again, but I would not choose it as my morning breakfast coffee.

Rich, flavorful. Ground fine, vacuum sealed. I used it to make a strong pour-over cup.
I already drink Davidoff Nespresso-compatible coffee pods in two varieties, so I know that they make rich flavorful coffee. I decided to try their espresso-ground coffee, even though I don't have an espresso machine that can use it.Of course, after you open the vacuum-sealed pouch by separating out the top, you'll want to pour it into a larger seal-able container. I used an empty pasta sauce jar, which was about the right volume.I *do* have some refillable Nespresso-style capsules, and someday I may try this in there to see, but what I do when I'm not using the Nespresso is to make a pour-over that's as strong as espresso, using about 22g of coffee to 150ml of water poured just fast enough (using a gooseneck kettle) to keep the coffee wet and drip over about 4 minutes. It can make a really great strong cup but it needs GOOD coffee to start with! This ground coffee was great, and I can definitely detect that chocolate notes in the flavor that they describe in the listing. Recommended!

Breakfast Or Dessert: A Davidoff Fine Aroma Ground Coffee Review
I often prepare Americanos in the morning using my automatic espresso machine. However, on weekends, I might switch to the drip coffee maker. I recently treated myself to Davidoff’s fine aroma ground coffee for a weekend indulgence.I brewed this medium-body coffee, roasted in the EU from 100% arabica beans, using 2.25 oz grounds for brewing 10 cups. Having brewed several pots, I’ve yet to discern a pronounced aroma. Although, the scent from the cup is reminiscent of caramelizing sugar. Sipped black, this medium-roast blend boasts a smooth texture with balanced flavors and subtle hints of dark chocolate. While enjoyable, I’d gladly reorder this blend for serving at large gatherings. While I typically appreciate coffee blends or their distinct flavors, this one lacks a distinctive profile. Nevertheless, I have no doubt it would satisfy most coffee drinkers. If you’re considering this coffee, it is likely to please.► PROS: 😊100% Arabica beansSmooth and well-balancedLow acidity► CONS: 😞Nothing to mention

Beautiful Brew
The media could not be loaded. The Davidoff brand is synonymous with quality, and having bought and used several of their products over the years, I was looking forward to trying their coffee. This Espresso 57 blend of Arabica beans is drum roasted to absolute perfection and peak of flavor. The intense but smooth resulting brew has notes of deep chocolate, a touch of fruit and a hint of smoke, and it’s obvious these beans were chosen by master blenders who know how to match various flavor profiles that complement each other beautifully. This is a very, very bold roast, rated at a 10 out of 12 intensity, but, there is no stomach burning acidic bite to it whatsoever. It’s truly miraculous they were able to achieve this, and believe me, I only drink bold roasted coffees and know very well the usually unpleasant gastric after effects of that. Yes, the coffee is a tad pricey coming in at roughly $19 a pound, but most premium coffees are currently in this range. If you watch my attached video, you will see I prepared this coffee as both an espresso and with a drip pot, and found the espresso to have far superior flavor and intensity. A lovely Crema layer developed on top, and the taste was really next level. I believe that I will most likely be reaching for my Davidoff Espresso 57 blend more than my other go to espresso blends from now on, and am very happy to recommend this truly great blend to everyone.
