It works and keeps the pool nice and clear (530 Gallon for my 3m x 2m Intex steel frame 3834 l)
Having read a fair few reviews on here, it seems to me, some people have no idea how to look after their pool. Reviews saying it' s not powerful enough, or its noisy - rubbish. Its quoted on the website and product details it filters at X gallons/litres per hour. People should check the volume of water their pools hold.Things like hair, blades of grass, insects. They are not meant to all filtered, some of it will however. You need a skimmer net to remove those things, the filter keeps the chemicals flowing thus keeping the pool clean. A pool vacuum is needed to remove debris from the pool floor. The filter does not do this.It is silent in operation. Could do with a longer mains cable, for my situation anyway, as it is not meant to be used with an extension cord. So beware when buying, check the length of it compared to where your pool in in relation to your mains socket. Next year we are going to place the pool elsewhere to make it easier for the filter and hopefully the heater too.The instructions are somewhat, rubbish. Just remember when connecting the pipes, the highest outlet from the pool connects to the lowest inlet on the filter and the lowest pool outlet to the highest inlet on the filter. The plastic things that attach around the pipes may not last, but other than that. Seems a good filter unit. Next on the list is a heater.EDIT: After using it a few times it has kept the pool crystal clear. Only had it on for a few hours at a time. One tip. After using it for the first time, unscrew the top to get the filter out. You will notice the bottom half of the filter is dirty. I gave it a jet with the hose and put it back in the other way (the cleaner end in first). The second time I used it I took it out and it was dirty again on the bottom half. Hosed it down and swapped it around again. You can find you will get double life out of them doing it this way.

Fantastic but noisey
Its a great filter, works well, good flow rate. However the only issue I have is the noise. Sadly its pretty loud which kind of ruins the chill vibes. Sounds like a blender/grinder sound which is really not nice on the ears. Im not 100% sure why it sounds so harsh. I have a waterfall built into my pond and the flow rate on that pump is double the flow rate / LPH. And its silent....Its the same kind of mechanism, pull water through, spit back out.So I really dont know why / where this horrible noise is coming from, must be a bad design on the inside where the propeller is.Other than that, for a filter that only has a 86w output on the elec. Its so cheap to run and filters my 16ft pool / via a heater.

Fantastic
Got this as a replacement for the pump that came with our pool, absoluty brilliant. Cleans pool, don't leak, great flow rate, compact and powerful. A definite buy even if your original pump still works.

Great pump, but a rock grinder would be quieter (1500 gal and 800 gal models reviewed).
This is a good powerful pump more than adequate for a 10/12ft steel frame pool. Does a good job at keeping the water clean (alongside required chemicals etc). Doddle to set up.Why 3 stars? The noise. It sounds like it's grinding granite in there. Seriously, you can hear it down the street. If I leave it running overnight I can hear it from my bed. You couldn't have a conversation standing next to it. When I first installed the pump it produced a loud but acceptable hum so I don't know what I've done to annoy it since then. I've thoroughly inspected the pump; there are no airlocks, no debris anywhere in the system and the filter is always kept clean and replaced at weekly intervals. My only hope is that it dies completely soon (I've owned it less than a month) and maybe I can get a replacement.UPDATE 23/05/2020 - As predicted it gave up the ghost. In it's last days it cresendoed to a new previously-unheard ferocity of grinding and growling before suddenly becoming quiet - just a low growl remained. At this point, the water flowed no more. A quick visual inspection through the inlet hole revealed that the plastic impeller (and the shaft it was on) had broken into lots of little tiny pieces and these were scattered throughout the bottom chamber and the pipes. As this has lasted little more than a month, I had the option of sending it back to Amazon for a refund rather than to-ing and fro-ing with Bestway, so I'm hoping this will be a straightforward refund process. Trying to get the big stiff bendy pipes back into the small box it came in was an opportunity for me to practise my favourite naughty words in the back garden. So I'm now in the market for a new pump; trouble is it's May, it's hot and sunny and we're 2 months into lockdown and it looks as if the UK is clean out of pool pumps. So I will have to make do with the teeny 330gal/hour pump that came with the pool, which is still going strong. Better than nothing I suppose!UPDATE 30/05/2020 - I managed to get hold of an 800 gal/hour vesrion of this pump from the same seller. I can't leave a separate review of this because amazon treat this and the 1500 gal/hour version as the same product. All I need to say about the 800gal/hour version is it doesn't inspire me with confidence. The first thing I should say is that it functions very well as a pump and I'm happy wit this. Straight out of the box though (and hooked up to the pool, bled of air etc etc) and back is the slightly uneasy grinding sound (though MUCH quieter than the racket it's big brother made). The underside of the motor is permanently hot to the touch (though this could be normal) and on holding the pump, the uneven vibrations suggest that a poor bearing of some kind is allowing the motor/impellor shaft to wobble around uncontrollably inside. We shall see if it lasts the month! Needless to say I'm starting to suspect Bestway have quality control issues but happy to be proved wrong!
