very pricey, but amazing coffee. I use it in a French press

It seems the dark roast ground coffee is no longer available -- only in cups, and I do not have a Keurig or similar. Please bring it back. The medium roast is not the same. Other brands give me digestive problems, but this is outstanding. (I would give it 5 stars if it were easier to find.

I bought some at Aldi trying to save some money. Dark roast should be heavy with a sort of sweet note at the end of the sip. This is light and reminds me of what most Americans seem to think "dark" means (i.e. slightly burnt). The note at the end is unpleasantly bitter. Because I am trying to save my budget for the month, I will work my way through the rest of the 12 oz bag, but I have learned my lesson.Just say no and spend the extra $2 for Seattle's Best 5, which is a much better example of dark roast coffee.

After living four years in France, I am trying to find a duplicate to the coffee I had there. Particularly the coffee sold in bowls in the bistros. I have tried a number of french roasts and dark coffees, but none seem to have that french flavor. Barissimo dark roast is the closest I have come. It is a remarkably good coffee, but it does not duplicate the french flavor, nor does it claim to. Until I find the french flavored coffee I will continue to drink Barissimo because of its flavor and cost.Should you know of a good french coffee please leave a note here.

My husband purchased this coffee at Aldi. He was trying to save some money since I liked coffee so much. Perhaps the problem is that I like coffee so much! This did not taste good. No matter which one I use, I can tell the quality is lacking. It tastes burnt and bitter.

If you prefer a dark roast, this IS a good roast!!! I've tried dozens of brands and Barissimo is as good or better than SB (and without all the "opinions" of SB). The person giving one star must not be a dark/strong roast coffee drinker.

I like the flavor, but I used two scoops for a large cup of coffee, and got 20 cups instead of the usual 40 cups. My purchase was at Aldi's since they carry the brand and convenient at $4 per 12oz bag. I compared it to my Kuerig, and find the the flavor bolder, and way less $. For the 12oz pkg I got 20 large cups for $4, so that is about 20 cents a cup, Kuerig will cost you 45 cents a K cup and up. A no brainer which one I choose. I gave it 4 stars, I suppose because there is no perfect cup of coffee.

Terrible coffee. Made me naseous after drinking a cuo of it.
