I wish I would have bought this years ago. I use a laminate trimmer router with this and it works perfectly. Easy to set up and repeat cuts. Well worth the price.

Pros: Very sturdy even though plastic. Clamps very nicely to the door. Worked great with a mini router. Made clean hinge pockets with a corner chisel purchased separately.Cons: Can't get a separate replacement router bit if needed. Centering hole drill bit sometimes hangs in guide case.Best Use: Routing Hinge Pockets.Would definitely buy again and may have to when the router bit goes dull

So many things to love about this if you’re a DIY’er and perhaps don’t route door hinges very frequently!1. This quickly and easily clamps to the door securely2. There is a guide so you know just how deep to set your router for your average hinge3. It comes with the sinker deal for the screw holesMy one complaint is that the template is made of plastic. I accidentally bumped it with the router and it broke on the first door. This said, no one seems to make metal templates so I didn’t remove a star. All other design elements make this jig incredibly easy to use for a novice user.

Good product. Came well packaged. Sturdy. Worth money. Does what it's supposed to do. Works well. Looks nice.

I really wanted to like this product, but was quite let down. The guide has a divot (upper, left-hand corner) that your router will find. This causes the bit to "hitch" and jumps the bit/router into the guide tearing it up. Even though the issue persented on the first cutout, I was able to finish all three hinge cutouts, but had to toss after one door's use. I will also add that the center-punch guide was cheap and pretty much useless (weak spring, thin casing). Not my favorite buy.

If you have ever changed out a slab door and tried to line up hinges this makes it perfect every time

This product was just as described it worked beautifully on the 6 new doors I installed.

I was skeptical and for good reason. The router bit has a screwdriver but shank which does not fit popular mini routers. The sleeve on the bit has too much play to be spinning in a router. The sleeve also prohibits the bit from getting all the way into the edge of the template so the cut is slightly smaller than the template resulting in the hinge not fitting. The template is thin plastic which does not inspire confidence when using with a high speed router. Would never have bought if I say it in person first. Not recommended.
