So good I bought another one!
I live in an old house built in the forties that has a lot of lathe and plaster walls making dead spots prevalent all over the house. When you’re near the modem/router we get crazy good speed but as soon as you go down a hallway you start to drop off precipitously. I bought one of these range extenders as a shot in the dark to extend our wifi coverage to the backyard for these nice Ohio summer days on the iPad watching our Guardians play. The range extender worked so well I bought another one to further our household coverage! The range extender is slightly on the larger side as compared to an older extender I bought years ago that really didn’t work. This one also has two antennae that stick out and swivel up and down. I guess this is a nice feature to have but I wish there was a way to tell how your signal strength was being affected by a slight movement up or down of the antennae. Otherwise I just leave one pointed straight up and the other slightly angled at about 45º in the hopes this works best.Normally I’m opposed to downloading yet another app with the newest piece of hardware I buy but I did download Tether, the associated app with this device. To my surprise the app is extremely intuitive and well laid out and very user friendly. The app makes setting up the device extremely easy. Of note, when I did purchase the second extender it was just as easy to add the second one to the app. The app is a big reason I purchased another of the same extender rather than try another brand. Super easy to use and keeps things nice and tidy on the phone. The hardware/software combination has a ton of settings that I’m sure more advanced users will revel in but I was able to set up the extenders in almost no time flat and I was up and running. My main modem/router has the capability to enable OneMesh software as does these extenders but I chose not to enable this feature. A big problem I have with the OneMesh feature is that all the smart devices in the house (of which we have about 40) all seem to float on different connection points and if the phone isn’t on the same connection point the devices often don’t work correctly. I’ve had no issues with connection, speed, or signal strength since purchasing these two range extenders for the house.I am truly pleased with this TP-Link range extender product and couldn’t be happier with the results. I can now freely go about the house and keep a solid connection and I can sit about 100’ from the house and stream content on my iPad in the backyard now. Couldn’t recommend more highly. I do hope this review was helpful for you in some way. Cheers!

Easy install. Would buy again.
Easy setup. Performed Manual Install. Extra time delay due to operator errors. Otherwise, should have been up in 10 minutes. Had to reposition product due to weak signal reception. Pulled out of old outlet and repositioned in new location and it automatically restarted and ran. Has been running nonstop since with no glitches. Difference in speed change like night and day. Would drop U-Tube videos and plot line by line pictures on screen. Now pictures pop on screen and download files drop in seconds. Very pleased with results. Not a gamer so I can't comment there. Would buy again.

This TP-Link AX1800 WiFi 6 Range Extender (RE615X) has been a lifesaver for my home network! I was struggling with weak WiFi signals in certain areas of my house, particularly upstairs and in the backyard. This extender was incredibly easy to set up using the TP-Link Tether app. Seriously, it took just a few minutes, and the app walked me through the whole process. The improvement in coverage is remarkable. I now have strong, reliable WiFi in all the previously dead zones. Streaming video is smooth, and I can finally work from anywhere in the house without worrying about dropped connections. The dual-band WiFi 6 speeds are noticeably faster, making everything feel more responsive.I also appreciate the Ethernet port, which allows me to connect a wired device, like my smart TV, directly to the extender for an even more stable connection. The fact that it can also function as an access point is a bonus, giving me even more flexibility.Another great feature is its compatibility with OneMesh. While I don't currently have a OneMesh router, it's good to know that I can easily create a seamless mesh network in the future if I decide to upgrade.Overall, I'm extremely happy with the performance and value of this TP-Link AX1800 Range Extender. It's a fantastic solution for anyone looking to boost their WiFi signal and eliminate dead zones. Highly recommended!

This works at least for now
I am probably a bit premature with this review, because the extender has only been set up and running for an hour. So far, so good. I had been using an older TP Link extender model RE220 for the past several years, until last week when a dropped connection could not be restored. So, I bit the bullet and upgraded to this one. I have read other reviews, most overwhelmingly positive. The negative reviews mostly centered on how things worked X amount of time and they fizzled.I am hoping my extender will have a long life.Setup was easy using the WPS method. After all four lights turned blue, I moved the extender to the position where my previous one was, inside our home, adjacent to a glass sliding door to our porch. That’s where I do my music listening with a pair of Sonos speakers. (Anyone who knows Sonos knows about the chaos which developed a few months ago when the company updated the Sonos app. It seems thousands of customers had difficulty with their internet connection. Fortunately, I did not, at least until last week.I am certain my problem was with the old extender, not the Sonos app. Now, things are good while I am listening to a Mose Allison recording via Amazon Music. But, one of the four extender indicator lights is RED, not blue ue as it should be when there is a connection to the internet router. Nevertheless, I am very pleased with performance and hope it continues. If a TP LINK technician happens to read this, maybe he or she can explain the red light, even granted what seemsto be g solid connection. FWIW, an Oklaa speed text, confirms a solid download speed in line with what my ISP is supposed to deliver.
