BenchSentry Connect by Genie Slate Package Delivery Box for Outside

I was initially hesitant to purchase the BenchSentry Connect due to a few negative reviews, but I decided to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did! Product, brand, and their customer service is excellent. Worth the money. Long as these lazy Amazon delivery drivers actually use it.

Sidewalls are warped so the lid does not close without pulling on the sides. Panels had some damage, some of the plastic ribbing broken. I've had this sitting outside on the patio and the sun hits it half the day and I'm starting to see the plastic warping in other areas.Overall I'm very disappointed in this unit. First the plastic is so flimsy it feel like a toy when you lift the lid it wobbly and flimsy feeling. Second the locking mechanism requires it to be plugged in with a wall wart for it to work, no battery option. Even with this locked you can easily break into this bare handed by pulling up the corner of the lid and pulling the safety release tether, takes about 5 seconds to do. Anchoring down to the ground would make it easer to break into, probable best to chain it to something so it moves around if someone tries to pry and push on it.

So far I love my BenchSentry! It was pretty easy to assemble and easy to connect with the app since I already have a Genie garage door opener, win! I got my first package from USPS and it took them a minute to figure out the instructions, but they ultimately got the package inside and locked it up. It feels sturdy like it will last a long time. I highly recommend the BenchSentry if you want a little protection for your deliveries.

I'm overall pleased with my BenchSentry after some modifications. The issue was with the locking mechanism. The door doesn't lock all the time. The chance of a successful locking is based on how softly you close the door lid. For example, slamming the door lid will not trigger the lock to activate. I tried this with two BenchSentry's and encountered the same issue. I reached out to BenchSentry and they provided some replacement parts (replaced lock, door lid and latch), but none of that resolved the issue. Their support is great nonetheless.The issue was with the door latch sensor in the lock module; to be more specific, the momentary hinge bending lever (image provided). This lever does not manage quick pressing motions too well, so it does not trigger circuit continuity.What I did to resolve this issue was to relocate the lever. As you can see in my image, I moved the lever to the back of the lid where the striker latch doesn't slam into it. Now the lid locks 100 percent of the time, no matter how hard you slam it down.This would have been a great product if it were executed properly. Also, there is some light warping on the sides of the lid. It could have used some reinforcement. These issues could be chopped up to poor QA, as it was pretty easy to notice these faults.

We were initially happy with the Sentry Bench. Within month it stopped working. We have spent hours going into days, going into weeks with customer service. They sent a new motherboard, unfortunately it wasn’t for our unit. We’ve reset our router multiple times. Nothing works. Customer Service is supposed to call tomorrow at 7 am 🤞🏻

I had some b**** steal a little over $1k worth of items off my porch a month or two back. Then I got this. It is great, not everything fits, and if usps delivers and then ups comes right after, ups can't get into the box. So, you kinda have to stay on top of it. But overall, I feel it's an added deterrent. The size is a little square, I had hopes for more of a bench like thing. Oh well. It's still great.

With all of the internet deliveries, this is a great idea to keep packages safe and dry when you are not home. Easy to set up, app works pretty well, and pretty secure. Overall, a good product.
