Beautiful as a paperweight, useless as a writing implement
My daughter bought me one of these as a gift knowing that I am a sucker for a nice pen / pencil. I really wanted to like it, and initial impressions do not disappoint: the design is beautiful, the build quality is top drawer, and it has a really nice feel in the hand. However, things completely change when you try to actually use it: it simply doesn't work. Yes, if you press hard then it does leave a mark on the paper, but it so feint as to be barely legible. I wondered if it was the paper, so I tried several different types: Rhodia, Moleskine, Leuchturm, standard A4 printer stock, all with exactly the same result: it just doesn't work. The only thing more disappointing than the pen itself, was the service from the manufacturer - an exchange of emails with their customer care team concluded with them washing their hands of the matter, refusing to accept a return, and saying that it is meant to have, and I quote, "a light and delicate line". Given that this was a gift from my daughter (who spent significantly more than she normally would) I am extremely disappointed. Summary: 10 out of 10 for design, zero out of 10 for actually writing with.

Look good but fragile
Bought a couple of these as presents direct from Italy but one of them had a broken nib which meant it wouldn't write properly and looked quite bad. Unfortunately the manufacturer would not accept that it was poor quality and basically said buyer beware. So much for a pen that lasts forever. I've bought several of this type, only this Napkin one from Italy had a problem, possibly because it has a sharper, longer "nib" compared to other brands and makes.
