This is a copy of a hook tying classic made in alloy . A minor bit of fettling was required on the "prong" side of the holes with a large twist drill to slightly bevel trim some burrs away to prevent fine line damage and the screw wheel thread improves with a bit of grease . As regards to the two pronged tool inside the lower part of the body--Whats it for? its not a loop tyer; it is for tying the Nail Knot ! used for tying leaders to fly fishing lines .The original gadget was known as the Matchman tyer, but I am not prepared to engage in long communications with the Chinese Mfgs regarding the logic of the addition of this gizmo . A nice little item never the less.

This was going to be an additional item for a Birthday present. The item photo shows coming in a box, but no just flipping plastic zip bag.

Received the item but unfortunately it was poor quality. It didn't close adequately to grip the hooks.

Good handy tool but it was too stiff and injured my fingers using the screw to tighten the vice and had sharp edge on some of the finish on the metal

A well made item, I have not tried yet, although I have practiced knotting hooks on, but I have dupertrone contracture in both hands it takes me a little longer.

Stripped thread on mine. Buy the Drennan or the Matchman hook tyer they will last you decades
