The Solution when a cookie cutter is not available
I needed to bake 100 butter paddle cookies and was unable to find a 'cutter to replicate the shape. Fortunately, I stumbled on this 'kit' and figured there was no harm in trying. The kit arrived and looked somewhat basic. A board with plastic feet, with a screw holding a 1" (or so) tall, 1/4" diameter piece of plastic. Two additional pieces of plastic, which slide over the attached ones constitute the tools for shaping. A length of metal, along with some tape and instructions, complete the kit.Instructions are simple, but make sense. Metal strip is easy to bend, whilst able to retain required shape. Tools provided are great. Cutting the strip with scissors was no problem. Tape, strong and durable. Sturdy box, good for containing metal strip.Just think through the design and make the best use of the curve of the metal (it comes curved in the box), before making the first bend.Cookies turned out well, so I continued with a second customized cutter, which was just as easy to create. I'll definitely purchase metal refill when the time comes.

Perfect!!
Super easy to use. Bends and molds easily and the tools help when you need a certain bend or turn. My advice is to watch a YouTube video on DIY cookie cutters and this kit will be easy for you to use! I wish this company would make their own “how to use video” for beginners, I think it would be helpful. My Baby Yoda ears turned out perfectly. 👍🏼

Takes some practicing
Love that this gives you the chance to get creative with your own shapes, but it takes some practicing to get the right shape. The sheet metal is thin and takes easily takes shape, and once it’s bent, it’s hard to get it back to a smooth shape/edge. It’s also hard to get the same smoothness/shape on both ends (the bottoms side that goes into the cookie and the top part that you press down). Once the shape is completed and sealed, there’s no protection for the top of the cookie cutter to protected your hand while pushing it down to cut. I recommend putting something on top to press if you are cutting thicker dough

Quality product
I had ordered a set years ago, obviously from a different company. It came with a strip of metal and some instructions. So, that’s what I was expecting from this set (no, I didn’t research it - I was ordering while at lunch when my boss said she wished she could make cookies with our logo. So, I searched Amazon and ordered the first set that offered “buy now” and then told her that I would have a cookie cutter in her hands in about a week. Anyway, this set contains a MUCH higher quality, heavier gauge metal strip, a work board, 2 sizes round shaping tools, a tool with two different pointed ends, and super sticky tape to secure the ends together. The only problem I had was shaping our logo, which is pretty detailed, but it turned out really well. For someone who has never done this, I would recommend watching some YouTube videos on making cookie cutters. Another hint. I printed our logo and taped it to a piece of plywood. I put nails at each of the turns so that I could get sharp, straight lines.

Cookie Cutter
Making my own cookie cutter???? Well it was a great idea, just not enough bang for the buck. First, it’s too much of a pain forming it into the shape you want. Not to mention, be careful you don’t cut up your fingers in the process. Then there isn’t any glue to hold it together

It worked
I was given very short notice for a large cookie order of a custom shape. I had ordered a cutter of Etsy, but even with expedited shipping I had a feeling I wouldn’t get it on time, so I ordered this kit and I’m so glad I did, it saved me!I will say - this is not the easiest task. It took me well over an hour to get my shape bent out, it wasn’t 100% perfect but almost. It took some trial and error to figure out how to best use the tools. Now that I know, it seems silly that I didn’t realize how to effectively use them at first but I wish it came with some instructions for the tools. I wish the board that it came with was a little bigger as well. There’s another kit out there that doesn’t come with the tools - you need the tools, spring the extra few bucks and get them. The materials are excellent quality. Once I got my shape done & glued (I did the quick method), I cut 100 cookies without any issue. It washed up without issue, too. I hope I never have to rush & make my own cutter again but if I do - I will use this kit for sure.

So easy!
I can't believe how easy this is!I needed a cookie cutter of a certain iconic marshmallow bunny so I decided to give this a try. I followed the basic directions: measure the length of tin needed, cut with a scissors and began bending. I didn't even read their "walk-thru" of making a cutter. I made one bend then stopped and remeasured my design but this time I marked any angles on my string then transferred these marks to the tin. I created my angles, bent the curves and taped the tin (per instructions) then tweaked the shape. My total time from measuring to tweaking was under 10 minutes! I assume the tape is some kind of epoxy since it has to cure for 1 hour in the oven (or 3 days). I'll use the oven so I can get on with my baking.BTW - I bought two kits as it was cheaper than buying the kit plus refill due to Amazon Prime shipping on the kits but not the refill. I already have plans for a second cutter.

easy to use
Product is easy to use. I find that I only use the 1 long tapered tool to do my bending. If you plan on making a bunch of cookie cutters, be aware that the amount of metal is enough to create only a few cookie cutters. I purchased addition rolls of metal. The metal included in this box 'doesn't' have a rolled edge, so it easy to bend/shape. You can order the same metal strip... or there are also metal strips that have rolled edges on Amazon... that are more sturdy / a little more challenging to bend intricate cookie designs.
