Newman's Own Fig Newmans, Wheat-Free/Dairy-Free, 10-Ounce Packages (Pack of 6)

We had a little trouble. I ordered All Fig Newmans in the purple package. I am allergic to wheat so I did NOT want FAT FREE, which are made with wheat. I ordered 4 cases of the regular fig newmans and received 3 cases of what I ordered and one case of fat free which I cannot eat. I contacted Amazon just now and they are sending me a replacement for the mistake, which brings this review from a 2 star to a 5 star. I love these and they ARE organic. For an item to be certified organic only 75% of the ingredients in it need to be organic. This is something lots of the other reviewers don't seem to know.I hope Newman's never stops making these because they are a staple in my house. They are very healthful and delicious, much more filling than the 'other' brand. If they stop making them, I am going to have to get the recipe!

Newman's offers several variants of fig newtons. I've tried these and also the fat-free ones. These are more moist and chewy than the fat-free ones, although both had similar taste. If you're vulnerable to wheat or dairy allergies, then these are the ones to try. I don't have those allergies but have just been experimenting with the various newtons to see what I like best. Everyone I've shared these with was pleased.

The product page needs to say NOT GLUTEN FREE next to Wheat Free, as we take than to mean gluten free.

Love these

These are much less sugary and more flavorful than regular fig newtons. Plus the proceeds all go to charity.

What can I say, I love Newman's Own products. My son can't have dairy products so it's nice to have found a convenient, healthy treat for him (and the rest of the family--we all love the fig bars) that is dairy-free. It's a better price here on Amazon than at the local store, and with the Subscribe & Save discount it's a no-brainer. Love these!
