I fashioned a hinge to accept these springs and there was no impedance when the door is closed.

Works as advertised
It works but I damaged 2~3 of them before getting a pair to work. Inner Diameter is a very tight 9mm so I would only recommend 8mm applications. Stainless steel arm is easily bendable. Some won't retain 90 degrees a few of them I folded into 0 degrees while trying to install it into my application.
