Good Taste & Texture
Let’s be real - this is a snack-pac, not high Japanese Temple Cuisine. Within that constraint, I found these pickled burdock strips tasty, not overly seasoned, and fine for eating out of hand, or cut up over noontime rice. The texture depends, I suspect, on where it was cut from the root. If I remember my grandmother’s directions correctly, she said that the skin-side, outer pieces were always more leathery. The bags I’ve had have been a mixed lot between crisp and SLIGHTLY less so.
