safety is paramount
I purchased this as my daughter is soon to be heading off to university. It’s just that extra bit of security knowing she has something with her. Should she be confronted. The sound is very, very loud and sharp. Perfect for deterring anyone who has a negative intent. The light is very bright and flashes very quickly. I’m sure it would stun anybody in the dark atmosphere. It’s easy to click back in and easy to clip onto a backpack or purse. I would highly recommend this product

The light and the speaker are on different sides.
This means that either you cover the light with your hand for the alarm to be heard, or you cover the speaker for the light to flash. You cannot have both like you are supposed to.

Survived washing machine.
I accidentally put it through the wash-- it still works! Previously I'd ordered a less expensive one, but it stopped working after about a month. Spend the extra money for this one.

Gives such a sense of security while out and about
These days, you really can’t be too safe. If I’m out by myself or out with my kids alone, having this thing on my keychain allows my mind to be a little more at ease knowing I could use it to draw so much attention to us if something were to happen. The color is so cute! Very bright and the keychain thing it comes with is perfect to hold all the rest of my keys.But it is pretty loud for the little thing that it is. I would not recommend trying it out too close to the kids unless you’re trying to show them how it sounds or what not. It will more than likely startle if they are not ready for it.I love it, I already purchased another to give as a gift.

Really loud
I tested it, to practice. It's really, really loud. My ears hurt for several hours after. I suggest to use earplugs if you are going to test it. Also remove all pets from the premises. It freaked out our dog and likely hurt his ears even more than mine.The alarm unit itself is light, while the metal keyring/activation clip is rather heavy. I'd prefer a less weighty clip, unless the clip also doubles as a weapon.
