Q: is the thermos warm to the touch on the outside when hot food is inside it?

Hello, if you are storing food at temperatures between 122-158 degrees Fahrenheit, the outside of the thermos will not feel warm to the touch. When you store food at temperatures between 176-212 degrees Fahrenheit, the outside of the food jar will feel a little warm to the touch. Please feel free to use the product, thank you!

Q: Can a 4 year old open the thermal by themselves?

Yes! My son is 4 and he opens his on his own. I thought it would be a struggle, but we practiced and he got it on his first try. I wouldn't close the lid extremely tight, but he does just fine. I would still practice with your child just in case.
