I have had other smart plugs in the past. My husband I bought the outdoor version to power our halloween lights and it was super simple to plug in, download the app, and connect to wifi! You can even set up schedules. So I bought this interior version to connect to a lamp in our home. Exactly the same experience. We already have the app, searching for a new device took all of 10 seconds, we named the plug, tested it, and set up a schedule! Easy Peasy! I highly recommend this companies SMART plugs! They work effortlessly and seamlessly. Oh, and they connect to Alexa and we can manually control the lights with a voice command outside of the schedule we created! Awesome!

UPDATE!!!! - OKAY, I switched internet providers recently for cost savings, and MAYBE it had everything to do with an incompatible modem/router?!? With this new internet service, this exact plug that disconnected from wifi every couple weeks has NOW been constantly connected to the new service for 3 months now AND performs its nightly on/off schedule. So, I DO have to change my mind on this unit for the time being as it seems to be working like a charm now....!!!!PREVIOUS REVIEW :This item, WHEN it works, is great! BUT, it's the times it doesn't work that it's irritating. LUCKILY, for me, it's only being used to turn my Tetris lamp on and off nightly. I had purchased 3 of these from Amazon and 3 from Home Depot. Unfortunately, I couldn't return the Home Depot ones, so this review is for them, but they're the exact same units.I have it set nightly, turning on at 6:00pm and off at 11:00pm. I will have to say, about EVERY 2 - 3 weeks, the unit will somehow disconnect from the wifi, and then it's rendered useless....it's off its timer and nothing gets turned on. Like I said, it's only being used to turn on my Tetris lamp. But it's for this reason I don't bother using the other 2 units I have as I can't trust them. Imagine if I had this plugged in behind a bookcase or someplace hard to access, it would be an extreme hassle to locate it, unplug it, plug it back in and get the wifi to connect to it again. I do this with the lamp, but luckily the plug is literally right next to the lamp. But I shouldn't have to do this once or twice a month.

I have a few of these in my house and they work well

I have tried various methods and products to automate my home in a hands off manner. I’ve had smart bulbs, other smart plug ins, etc. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST. The only downside, for me, is it’s not Apple Home Kit compatible. But, these things are reliable! I haven’t experienced a single issue with them due to internet or power outages. Whereas my smart bulbs and other smart plugs always required reconfiguring—which gets really old, really fast. So, after my most recent 16hr ordeal due to a vast internet outage in my area…. I noticed THIS smart device reconnected and was the only one that did! So, naturally, I bought two more. Initially I got this because it was for a grow lamp. But now, I’m replacing my smart bulbs and going this route. Sure, I won’t be able to dim my light bulb or set cool colors… but I’ll take “going half way old school” over the stress and time lost.***HIGHLY RECOMMEND***Should also mention, Feit makes light bulbs that I love—didn’t realize that until this most recent situation. lolBUY THESE! EASY TO SET UP! So easy a Boomer can do it! (Love to the Boomers.)

We bought Feit outlets and light bulbs for added security for our home but they WILL NOT STAY “ON LINE”!!! I have to continuously reset them, then reprogram them! They are a waste of money. We have a mesh system! We have a large backyard get and I get a “strong wifi” wifi signal. The living room outlet is only 10 feet from the router. Feit outlet works for two days then goes off line. We have the Feit light bulbs for our front entryway, OFFLINE! We continuously come home to a dark house. Tossing em in the garbage and going back to the old time timers.
