Very strong and sturdy, and make my new units look fantastic. It came with screws though I did switch for larger/longer ones. The hinges are stunning, and beautifully rustic.

Need bigger screws as the screws that came with them were no good so had to go and buy bigger screws

This is a lovely pair of hinges. I purchased 2 packs because I wanted to fit 3 to my back garden gate for extra support as the gate is heavy. One of the last 2 small antique hinges that were fitted to the back gate years ago decided to break. They were really too small for the heavy gate and in hindsight I should not have fitted them but I remember that at the time I had trouble in finding suitable large hinges that would fit onto the cross pieces of wood on the gate. I wanted the antique style of hinges again and these were ideal. They just fitted the gate with a slight overlap here and there but not a problem. The first thing I think could be improved with these hinges is the pin sizes - they are rather thin and therefore the hinges have too much play in them and not as strong as I would like to see. They look really nice but the other improvement needed is to the supplied screws. The supplied screws are not rustproof and have gone rusty already. I always have this problem with gate hinges and last time I had to swap the originals for stainless steel ones, which stayed rust-free. I will be changing all the screws soon to stainless steel as I have found that these are better than the usual Zinc-plated screws, which still seem to rust after a while. The spare hinge that I had was fitted to the centre of my shed door because as it happens I already had 2 of these exactly the same hinges on my shed door, so the shed door has extra support as well now. So, overall nice hinges but improvements needed, hence only 4 stars.

Was surprised how well made these hinges are, they are very strong and look good.
