Needs a collection container
Easy to use and read the sticks but could do with a collection container, hence losing a star. You have to dip the strips for at least 10 seconds and read them immediately after that, so a container is essential (you can't just pee onto the strip). An old yoghurt pot would do, I used the cap from an old hair mousse bottle. It needs to be deeper, rather than wider as the part of the stick that needs to be submerged is relatively long.

Tests both ketones and PH, 100 test strips supplied
100 Accudoctor Ketones + pH Ket Keto Test StripsI have been using test strips like this on and off over the past few years, I find they are a great guide on how your low carb diet is performing. I usually use these alongside a daily blood test for a full picture off what's passing through my urine and what's showing up in my blood. These are a little different to the normal keto sticks that I use, these sticks have a double testing area. One testing pad is checking for ketones in your urine sample, the other pad is testing it's PH. So if you need to take a PH test then these will cover it.There are 100 sticks supplied in a small sealed bottle. As with all keto sticks you should only break the seal when you are ready to use them, once open they only seem to have a limited lifespan of several months. I've had a few tubs of keto sticks expire because I've opened them and not used them up in good time.As these are dual purpose keto sticks, they do have two different testing pads on them. For keto the scale is light grey up to dark maroon (6 increments). The PH scale is a little longer having 7 increments ranging from orange up to a deep green/blue colour. As far as how these perform, they seem much the same as other keto sticks that I've used, but do have the addition of testing PH too. My ketones were detected quickly with a medium maroon colour showing after about 10 seconds of dipping. The price is currently less than £8 which seems quite reasonable as this contains 100 test strips.CONTENTS:100 x Test stripsThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.

Checking For Diabetic Ketoacidosis
Primarily, I am using these test strips for the Ketones level, not so much the PH level. My father is type 2 diabetic, but is also prescribed a maintainence dose of steroids for other health related conditions he suffers from. This particular steriod medication can give a false reading on his daily blood sugar check which can read as high as 21.3.In any usual case, this would certainly be a medical emergency, but to determine if this is infact the steroids producing a false reading or a medical emergency, a further check can be carried out.The Ketone levels are not influenced by steroid medication, so this is the best way to determine if it is infact diabetic ketoacidosis. Its better being safe than sorry, and stops any worrying with a quick check from these test strips.

Works only with collected urine -
Hmm I have used before strips to monitor my ketones and I have to admit that it was easier before. This one though has maybe more accuracy and also gives PH readings. However, I find it inconvenient to have to collect daily urine and check it there instead of having it under the urine flow.I did try to use it with the urine flow to see if it works like this and the cup is just you know.... a little extra for more accuracy but it didn't work at all. And I could assume that okay maybe I am not in ketosis but also the PH didn't change one bit so....As a woman, I find it very inconvenient to collect urine. It is way easier for a man.If you want to use those, you have to do it daily. And why daily? Daily because there are 100 strips in the box that come very well packed and sealed, but from the moment you will unseal the box, the strips have a 3-month life. Then they are going off.So if you want money for value, you will obviously need to do it daily, and also because when you are in keto or intermittent fasting or whatever the reason, you actually want to have readings daily. The expiration date on my box was August 2024, which is less than a year from the date I ordered them, the end of September.I wouldn't say that this is exactly okay but again, since I have opened them, they will go off in early January.I would rate this 3 stars but I think is unfair to cut a star for the collecting urine thing since it is shown in photos of the listing, however, it is not mentioned in the description.
