Imformative and interesting book with vivid images . I looked up the author after reading his book on the Roman Empire to see what else he wrote and knew I had to own this. So much of the West’s culture is owed to both the Greek and Roman civilizations and Rodgers does a wonderful job of writing about all aspects of their societies. He covers every topic you’d be curious to learn about. Reading his books will definitely expand your vocabulary as well!

We bought this as a gift for the kids who are now studying Ancient Greece in school. They loved it - it was a great choice!
