It's not an "official" licensed King Kong model, but I don't care - it looks good on my movie shelf
The media could not be loaded. Look, I'm under no illusions that Gemini & Genius went and licensed the name King Kong or his likeness to make this toy. Which is probably why that name appears nowhere on the product, and instead it just says "Chimp". Ha.But I don't care. You look at this figure, and you know who it's supposed to be (which is more than I can say for so many Funko's), and looking around Amazon it becomes pretty clear which Kong toy it's knocking off, too.And you know what? They did a pretty good job.***Definitely intended to be a statue not a toy***No, it doesn't have any points of articulation or interchangeable hands or heads, but it does have two axes, and one of them is clearly the Godzilla spine-spike variety that (I think - most of the movie is a blur) we saw in the last Godzilla vs Kong movie. From the detail on the hair to the hands to the feet, it's a pretty great standalone statue. And I emphasize statue because, while I know lots of kids' dinosaur and animal toys have no points of articulation, their hands/arms are usually in a position that makes them easier to play with. This thing's pose with the hands raised back over it's head with the axe makes it a little bit awkward to use as an action figure.I say this as a nerd who was still buying them actively even after having a kid and probably should have started saving money for toys for said kid...instead of for display on the home media shelf.I'm a sucker for detailed action figures though, so no apologies. And growing up, a lot of the action figures I played with had VERY minimal movement. My point is: I'm no stranger to playing with toys that are frozen in less that useful poses, but considering that there are LOTS of King Kong toys available that DO have moving parts, this probably isn't the one you'll want to buy if it's for a kid to play with. Get them one that has moving arms at least. However, if you want one that you can put on a movie shelf or a gaming shelf as a display piece?Absolutely consider this one.The detail is there. This has one of the better head molds of the Kong toy imitations. The pose is pretty great. And its balance isn't too shabby either. Whatever shelf it's on would need to take a pretty hard knock to send him tumbling, and even if it did, he's not so rigid that he'd necessarily break upon falling off. That's a pretty good combination of upsides for a display statue. As an added plus, since it's NOT a licensed toy, there's no collectible reason to leave it in the box, you'll get to take it out and display it free of obstruction somewhere on your shelf. Once it's free of the box, no one will know or care that it's not legit anyways. It LOOKS good, it looks like Kong, and that's all that matters to anyone who sees it.

Pleasantly suprised.
This Gemini & Genius King Kong Figurine stand at 9 1/2 inches from foot to the top of the hands and scales really well with other 7-inch figure lines I collect. The figure has zero articulation and is very solid feeling with some heft to it, the figure is balanced and stands well without the need for a base. The detail is very nice from the scars all over his body to his facial expression, and he comes with 2 different axes that you can change out.I collect mainly Neca figures, and every once and a while I will add a figure to my collection from another company because I really like the figure but I have never heard of this brand before as I tend not to stray from my normal, but I am happy I found and ordered this figure, as his quality and detail compares to some of the other off brand figures I have on my shelves.Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this figure of King Kong and am more than happy to display this particular figure on one of my shelves.

KIng Kong Action posed figurine.
This King Kong figurine came within a plastic tray and packaged inside of a nice collectors cardboard box. Ii the box was King Kong along with two battle axes. This figurine is not poseable. It is pre-set in one action pose with his mouth open to get a sense of his anger. His facial expression feels so realistic. The details don't end just at his face, I am also impressed at the workmanship and texture quality like his fur.The KK figurine has a nice solid build quality to it and it should last for quite some time in or outside of a display case.Overall, this is a very nice collectors item for those that are fans of King Kong and /or are interested in KK memorabilia figurine. Its good build quality which offers a bit of weight to it which I think is a plus as it'll it'll help with it's overall stability.

King Kong Gorilla for both adults and kids
This is a quality figure of a King Kong Gorilla. I was browsing this and my kids thought I am planning to get it for them! Well I ordered it but had a deal with kids that it will stay on my table and then have to return it back after playing. Well made with details and the 2 axes go well with it.

Pretty cool!
If you like display items that don't move, then you'll love this. My son thought it was an action figure so he was a bit disappointed, but he actually still likes it. He has posed Kong on a shelf with a Godzilla action figure so that it looks like they're in the middle of a battle. There is a fair amount of detail on Kong. The material has an almost rubberized feeling to the touch, but that doesn't take away from the detail. I'm not going to test this theory out, but I think that the choice of materials would aid in preventing a break if Kong was ever dropped.
