Replacement wheel for unknown bike
Regarding performance, 26-inch tires enhance maneuverability because cornering and riding on narrow trails and ledges are enhanced. In the late 1990s and turn of the century, I did a lot of amateur mountain bike racing on standard 26-inch wheels. I refuse to give up my now vintage 26-inch bikes, although wheels are getting hard to come by.This Range Cycling Gear wheel is meant for some unknown bike. They drilled out the rim for a fat Schrader valve, and the quick-release skewer I had hoped for is a threaded axle with a safety-catch hook washer. This hub design is totally different from the Shimano Deore Hub. The big piece of rim tape also mystifies me. The last time I saw rim tape was in the 1990s.This RCG item is a good wheel. It's a bit heavier than what I'm used to, but I gave it a good, hard spin, and it spun true with no side-to-side or up-down wobble. The bolt-on axle with the washers and safety hook suggest this is a match for older department store bikes that don't have disc brakes. I'd likely be pleased if it fit any of my bikes, but this is unlike anything I've seen.

Loose Axle!
By far the worst bike wheel I've ever bought new. Axle loose and came off. Having to do all this work with a brand new bike wheel. Wheel should be ready out of the box.
