LumeneNordic Hydra [Lähde] Birch Dew Jelly - Dual Hydrating Serum Face Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid and Nordic Birch Sap - Faily Face Serum for Dry Skin and All Skin Types (1.7 fl oz)

This unusual “dual hydrating” serum face moisturizer from Finland is intended to work as both a quick-acting serum and an all-day face moisturizer. It’s the first time I’ve seen “birch juice” (aka “Nordic birch sap”) used in a cosmetic product. It is called a “jelly” because it is a gel rather than a cream. This is intended to be a face serum for all skin types, although if used on very dry skin it is recommended that application be followed by a cream or balm moisturizer. The “jelly” has a light, pleasant odor that I expect will appeal to most people. I tested this birch gel on the right side of my face, using a comparable amount of aloe vera gel on the other side. The birch dew jelly was more readily absorbed and, after several minutes, the treated skin looked and felt a bit more hydrated. About 10 hours later the skin treated with the Lumee Nordic gel did not look noticeably better than the other side but it still felt less dry, so its all-day moisture is impressive.

This is a refreshing and cooling jelly serum that comes in a convenient pump dispenser. It is a little more viscous than some other serums that come in a dropper, so I'd say it's somewhere between a liquid serum and a cream in consistency. It is jelly, so it's translucent and a little bit slippery. When applied to the face, it feels very cool, great for after a hot shower.After applying, it leaves a slight sticky film on the skin, but the skin doesn't feel wet or heavy. The tacky sensation goes away gradually and leaves the skin smooth. It does still feel like something is there, especially around the eyes.I think I would have given this five stars if not for the slightly gummy feeling it left around the eyes and if not for the fragrance. The fragrance isn't bad but it lingers and is stronger than I would like for skincare. It has a soapy, floral fragrance that is nice but I can still smell it on my face 30+ minutes after application. When applying it, it was noticeably strong. Some people cannot tolerate fragrance in their skincare and I am not one of them but this was too strong for me. If you are sensitive to fragrance or often allergic, this may not be a best option for you.I did like the cool feeling it left on my skin and I think this would be a fantastic product to use during hot weather when you don't want to put a lot of layers on your skin.

I ended up using this serum mostly as a moisturizer (especially on my more oily days around my time of the month). The serum works great and I've found it very soothing for redness and irritation. The only issue I have is that there are little balls of tacky serum in it that have to be rubbed in a little harder than the rest of it. I didn't like that but the serum is good enough I didn't remove a star for that.

I have very dry skin and the weather where I live has turned cold, which dries me out even more. This feels great and keeps my skin much more hydrated when I layer it under my normal moisturizer. It has a clean scent. I don't wear foundation, so I can't speak as to how it sits on top of this, but it keeps me from getting dry and flaky during the day.

Gives a healthy moisturized glow to my skin. Applies easily and smells really nice. My skin was left feeling very soft.

This is the first time I've tried birch dew jelly and I will say that it is a little more viscous than other serums I've tried before. So I think it's somewhere between a liquid serum and cream consistency. It is jelly, so it's translucent and a bit sticky. When applied to the face, it feels refreshing, but it does leave a slight sticky film on the skin. The tacky sensation goes away gradually and leaves the skin smooth and sort of wax looking. It does do a great job at hydrating your skin even after washing your skin it still feels soft and hydrated.

Lightweight, clear-colored serum. It is a moisturizer but does not have the texture of a lotion. It is definitely like a serum, or jelly, as the description states. However, it does a great job providing moisture and softness to my face. My sensitive skin tolerates it well and does not cause a rash to break out. I am pleasantly surprised at how far a little goes. Comes in a little pump bottle. I will be continuing to use this for awhile.

I'm a huge fan of this serum. I have really dry skin, especially in winter. Where I live it's already winter weather outside. This serum is not greasy at all, but it is very moisturizing. It costs less than the serum I was using, and I am happier with this one. When it comes to my face I am very particular bout serums because of how dry my skin gets but I will be buying this one when it runs out. There is no unpleasant smell.
