Good Feature, Weak BIOS, Dangerous Overclock
This board has few features others don't offer: dual PSU, full 8 channel memory with overclock, intel x710. I paid serious surplus over other choices just to get the full 8 channel memory overclockingI am still testing this board trying to make sure no random settings damages my CPU and other components. Here is what I have found out so far:I also have a Supermicro w790 board. Here is comparison:Pros: memory overclock, dual psu supportCons:BIOS is weak and more difficult to use.Poor system stability - I still occasionally get BSODs just running with bare minimum.Weak construction despite overuse of materials.Price - Is it worth several hundreds more to just to be able to set some custom memory speeds? No buzzer - this turns out to be extremely helpful for troubleshooting with long boot time. Supermicro comes with this by default.Bloatware - this is ASUS standard. Even if you get rid of them (which is extremely difficult, it's everywhere), it just needs you to be negligent for once to reset all your hard work.Weird/Annoyances about this board:The VGA port is unsupported physically. All its strength comes from the data wires. Really?Overclocking options seem unfinished despite this board being almost 1 year old. Details below:The board does not seem to respect safety limits. It will just freely go above TjMax regardless which OC option you have. There is even one that mentioned 90C and it just goes past that.Custom temperature limit ranges from 105C to 115C, which is totally pointless and dangerous.I can only access SPD info from BIOS, not through 3rd part software like CPU-Z or HWInfo.I can't set custom fan curves. From the manual I have to turn off BMC, but then I don't have display anymore. Maybe VGA also got disabled. There is no flexibility for the VRM fan bracket. My memory runs quite hot but there is no way I can reconfigure the bracket to share some cooling to memory despite the vicinity. No RGB. Surprising. Very Un-Asus.NO ANTI STATIC BAG PACKAGING???

not a bad motherboard - but I think it needs at least one or two bios updates before it realy shines
best choice for the w9-3495x

It won't boot when it's mounted on E1, E2, F1, F2
When you install 8 memories in the slot, it says to install them on A1, A2, B1, B2, and E1, E2, F1, and F2It won't boot when it's mounted on E1, E2, F1, F2

Size Constraints - What Won't Fit
So here's what I did and you shouldn't. PS I didn't buy from Amazon. So, the MB accepts two PCIe 5 NVME SSD, flat without heat sink. However, I bought the Crucials with the heat sink. Installed them, no problem. Then I installed my ASUS RTX 4090, third slot from the bottom, no problem. I then took the graphics card out to install cables at the bottom of the MB. When I went to reinstall the RTX 4090, it's 3.5 slot girth was crushing my cables. So I decided to move the card up one slot. Won't go. Now its hitting the top of the SSD heat sink (and putting the card even higher won't solve the problem). So, I muttered a few vile words and sent them back for exchange

Nice Try on Hardware Set, but Terrible Delivery of Documentation, Support, or Attention to Detail
The board tries to pack in a lot of things, and the result looks nice to view or on paper. The price far exceeds the quality of documentation, support, or fine detail delivered, though.Pros:lots of PCIE slotslots of memory slotssupports overclocking and memory tweakingdual 10GB NICsbuilt in IMPI/BMC3 NMVE slots onboard with heatsinksSupports out of band BIOS updates via BMCLinux BIOS update now bundles the MEI flashing into the packageCons:BIOS is VERY poorly or not-at-all documented for any options that really set it apart from other boardsOnly 2 of the integrated NVME slots are gen 5Auto tuning of fan speeds is lost when other options are enabled (BMC remote enabled?)The BMC remote view is only useful for remote BIOS config/reset/flash, not console under LinuxKernel reports the integrated NICs being on a bus not supporting their full speedNIC firmware update package for use under Linux has bricked the NICs on two different boardsSupport issues: getting a team member to understand the bricked above is next to impossible andresults in completely unrelated questions and references to Windows Control Panel and WIFIquestions. Even after "escalation" to the alleged Linux team, Windows responses were given.RMA is always "send in first" and offers no carrier options other than Fedex home. Don't expect theability to reroute the return to another address or a FedEx officereroute the return or have it sent to a FedEx shop

Beware - Marvell 10Gb Ethernet port disappears randomly, no solution from Asus.
The 10Gb ethernet port is useless on this ASUS Pro WS W790-ACE motherboard, for it disappears in Windows, and even from BIOS. You must perform a complete PC shutdown, disconnect power cable, then try again. Happens randomly. We buy dozens of these boards each month, and about 10% of the boards have this issue. Asus is aware of this, but are not moving fast enough to provide a solution. Do a Google search on Marvell 10Gb AQtion to see what folks have tried, but there is no confirmed solution. It not only affects this board, but also others that use this Marvell NIC.
