I just received this letter set today and my initial impressions aren’t good. I ordered the full 184 character set and it was shipped with the letters/numbers randomly packaged in multiple plastic baggies stuffed in a cheap plastic box. There’s no way to organize the characters and no easy way to tell if all are included. What’s more annoying, unless I can come up with a way to organize and store these, the user is required to randomly hunt through a pile of brass characters until you find what you’re looking for. For a set costing over 200 bucks, I was expecting some sort of box that displayed the characters in an organized manner.Next, these characters are really small. I read the description, but it’s tough to really comprehend exactly how small these would be in real life. They are definitely a lot smaller than the traditional 1/4” letter stamps I’ve used in the past. The lower case characters are even smaller and really not usable in my mind, especially on items of any significant size.Last, although the letters do make a nice impression and appear to line up properly, the spacing doesn’t seem quite right between individual characters. Most have what looks like proper spacing, but some are almost touching each other (see photo to judge for yourself).Overall, for the price, I’m not really impressed and there is a good likelihood I will return them and search for a better set.

I was so afraid of getting the 184 set because some reviews said they got an incomplete set. I got everything! Yes, it took awhile to organize them, but I got them all. It does come in small plastic bags, maybe 12 bags? But fortunately they put them accordingly to make it easier for us, like uppercase letters were stored in the same bag, lowercase letters in the same bag, etc. etc. Before the order was delivered, I went to Joann Fabric and got 2 slotted plastic containers near the beads section. They were super cheap! Each container has 35 slots and I used masking tapes to mark a letter for each slot. One container is for uppercase letters and symbols, and the other for lowercase letters and numbers. It made organizing these brass letters so much easier. So don't hesitate to order these brass letters, then head over to Joann or Michaels and get your containers so you'll be all set when the letters arrive.

The set was not in the proportion as advertised. Some letters, numbers, and characters were either missing or had too many. Example there was only one “.” Instead of 3 as advertised. There were 5 “N” instead of 2 as advertised. This problem isn’t isolated to just these two examples. This would have been a good value is sold as advertised.
