is the greatest knife I've had the pleasure of using
This, simply put, is the greatest knife I've had the pleasure of using. It surpasses my Global G1, which it was bought to replace, and I'm thoroughly pleased with it in every aspect, including the price which is still far lower than elsewhere. For just over £100, I doubt it can be beaten. Clearly though the price warrants it's use in a professional capacity or by a very keen amateur with a considerable amount of disposable cash for this sort of purchase. If you can justify the price you will not be disappointed.

Should be 6 stars.
Global knives aren't good. They're not great. They aren't fantastic, whatever you may have read. They are simply BRILLIANT. You pay a lot, but you get a lot. I have some that are years old, and still as sharp as a razor. I can slice soft tomatoes like paper, I can cut cheese, bread, meat, whatever, perfectly. They are a joy to hold, and perfectly balanced. And they even look cool. I've got Sabatier, and ranges of Austrian and German knives, but NOTHING comes close to Global. They are truly exceptional. You'll only need two. A big, big cooks knife which will cut spuds, loaves, steaks, fish heads, the lot, and a 7 inch paring knife for fiddly stuff. For the extra step, buy a flexble filleting knife. Spend the rest on a proper ceramic sharpener. And cook like you've never cooked before!Nick
