Very rarely am I this happy about a purchase: and I'm pretty picky.
I gotta admit, I thought the whole 'mechanical keyboard' hype was mostly rubbish: I've used an old IBM Model M like 25 years ago and back then it was nothing notable: but I was also about 10 years old.Years of membrane-styled keyboards and (worse) scissor-switches in whatever MacBook or Dell the office loaned me ruined me a bit for a good typing experience. Sure, I can crank out 95+ WPM on a piece of printer paper, probably, because I've been touch-typing for ages. I didn't realize what I was missing until this Qisan arrived this morning.I work from home so most of my day is spent surfing Reddit, watching my cats, and playing video games interspersed with occasional emails and conference calls: so your typical workday. The board arrived promptly this morning at 10AM and the unboxing experience was as straightforward as it gets; Qisan doesn't bother with nonsense you don't need. Amazon packaged it decently with air bags, and the board arrives pristine with its detacahble micro-USB cable, a keycap puller (nice call!), the board, and a booklet.Immediately I realized I was about to change my typing experience when I clicked a couple keys before it was plugged in. Yeah: it's louder than my old membrane Dell-whatever-the-hell, but the experience of clicking down on a key is utterly different and better in every way.I'm not here to tell you about Jesus (mechanical keyboards) however, either he lives in your heart or he doesn't, and that's up to you. What I will say is the board is insanely solid for its $40 cost: metal construction that hits things with a 'thunk', solid legs that fold out with an audible 'click', and keys that I can slam down with a 'clack' that make me feel like I'm guiding an Apollo mission down from the edges of space, but I'm really posting a photo of my cats on the internet, or reminding my boss about a project in-progress due tomorrow that I should really get to work on.They keycaps are a tad confusing, admittedly- but that's easy to change and the board itself is a very solid base to work from, so I can't dock points for that. Moreover- what do you expect when certain keys have 3 functions depending on their selection with the well-placed function key?My typing speed hasn't changed- yet. I imagine this will take a little bit of time to become proficient on, but that's not unreasonable or unusual moving from even one membrane/scissor-switch board to another. What's important is that typing has become a responsive, enjoyable experience again and all at a very attainable price. Qisan did a great job opting for a detachable cable: I may have mentioned I have cats and they're very fond of cables, so my old 40-pack of micro-USB cables is likely to get into heavy rotation sometime soon, and that's great: I'd rather swap a cable than worry about soldering and sheathing a cable to patch it because a little kitten got toothy.TL;DR? If you want to try a mechanical keyboard, snag the Qisan: there's no reason to regret it. Pick a switch you think you'll like, and go crazy. Downsides? I think I'm getting addicted to the 'mechanical keyboard thing' already, and I don't think typing while my girlfriend is sleeping two rooms and 20 feet away is going to be IDEAL; but she'll just have to deal with it- this is exactly what I expected.

Great Keyboard, solved my ergonomic issues.
I got this keyboard in hopes to relieve some wrist and should strain from using a full size mechanical keyboard, my old Tesoro.Ergonomics:The 60%-70% keyboard format really does help with ergonomics as your arms are straight in front of you instead of at a wide angle. When I was using my full size Tesoro mechanical keyboard before I had to orient my arms in a weird awkward manner in order to reach the keys:The slashes represent you arms while the underscore is the body\_/ when gaming\_\ when trying to typeNow with the Qisan MagicForce, my arms are closer together and I have to "reach less" to get to the keys I want.Like so:|_|Typing Experience:I do somewhat miss the number pad, however I noticed that I rarely ever use it unless I was making the odd Excel spreadsheet once in a while. Another thing I will like to note are the OUTEMU Brown switches as they are much more tactile and noticeable than my old Tesoro that also had Kalilh Brown switches. The Kailh brown now feels more mushy and linear than a proper tactile brown switch such as these OUTEMU. I use to brush off comments about "problems" with Kailh switches, however comparing to these OUTEMU switches is an eye-opening experience.I do like that fact that they include one green LED for the CapsLock which does indeed help.Noise:This keyboard is as loud as any other keyboard with non-clicky switches. I did installed some 0.4 mm o-rings on all the keys and it does help a tiny bit but not much.Gaming:As mention above in my ergonomic section, having a smaller keyboard brings your arms and hand closer together which makes it more comfortable for long period of use. Another benefit from using a smaller keyboard is that you now have more room for your mouse/mousepad which is important in FPS games or any other games that requires mouse precision. This Keyboard does not fully support N-Key-Roller over my personal testing and only supports up to 3-4 and is picky about the button combination. This is not a big problem for FPS gamers as all of the essential keys do not conflict with one another, however this might be a problem for RTS or MOBA players you are constantly using several button combinations.Other nice things:Removable cables is nice for durabilityThe flip out feet are pretty good and provide a nice angle for typingMedia and other controls through FN combination work well with the small keyboardNit Picks:I wish there was a black version for the non-backlit version because I really dislike the font on the more expensive versionI could do without the INS,DEL,PGUP,PGDOWN so the keyboard could be smaller but I guess it is nice to have for people who want themThe cherry stabilizer on large keys makes a weird sound when press making them almost sound like Blue switches. Conclusion:At $40 I think this is a killer deal with pretty good switches, nice compact design, and several function layers and features.

Great keyboard for the price
PROS: Great, cheap and affordable mechanical keyboard.I love the feeling and sound of the OTEMU Brown switches. The switches feel nice and smooth with a subtle bump. The compact size of the keyboard makes it great for smaller working spaces and also practical for traveling. The icons on the multi-function keys are printed clearly and legibly, and grant this smaller sized keyboard a ton of functionality. As an added plus, the layout on the keyboard follows the standard American layout which means no irregularly shaped backspace keys. The keyboard feature a removable cord for easier transport.CONS: A major problem I have noticed when typing on this keyboard is rattling keys. The space bar, shift keys, and backspace key all have a rattling, hollow and thin thudding sound when pressed. This makes them stand out with great contrast in comparison to the letter and number keys. The rattle on the space bar especially stands out because it is such a frequently pressed key. The key rattle was the reason I had to remove a star on this product. Conclusion: The keyboard's functionality and practicality make this board a excellent choice for the money. The print on the key caps is clear and legible. The layout is standard American layout which eliminates the need to learn new typing patterns. The multi-function keys allow for a lot of versatility for a smaller keyboard. The brown switches sound and feel nice to type on. The removable USB cable makes this easy to transport without fear of a damaged cable. Unfortunately, the keyboard's backspace, space and shift keys all have an annoying rattle that detract from an otherwise enjoyable typing experience. All in all, this is a great keyboard for the price.
