Ordering 2nd time .This tea is same tea what it should be
Well people who does not know exactly what tea it is they have reviewed it less stars and the people who knows what it is actually are giving it 5 stars and the review what it desrves .So it is kashmiri pink tea which you can drink as sweet tea without milk and salty tea with milk .Just boil one cup water and add one tea spoon tea leaves and a pinch of baking soda .Let it simmer and when it changes its color add milk and pinch of salt ( salt you can add at the begining too) and let it boil and your pink salty tea is ready .For sweet tea just boil one cup water with little bit of like half tea spoon tea leaves and add cardamom cinamon and any tea spices which you would like and add sugar let it boil and your sweet tea is ready .Salty tea takes at least 10 to 12 minutes and sweet tea takes only 5 minutes .Also there is one more method you can add milk to your sweet tea but its color would be white creamy .that is again one type of kashmiri tea .Salt and milk tea is called noon chai ,sugar tea without milk is called kahwa and sugar milk tea is called double tea .Tea is not moldy its the color of the tea as there are varieties of tea so this type of tea you can use for all the three types of tea recipes .Also burnt paper under lid is just because of heat sealing and nothing else .I will buy it again and again as its not available at stores out of India ( may be at some places but not sure) so this is the best option for people living in USA.Thank you Hemani tea store and thank you Amazon .

This tea does not deserve the poor reviews it gets
So. Kashmiri pink tea. This tea has some pretty bad reviews, which I think is due to a lack of information and a poor English translation of the instructions. Some things to note: The tea leaves are not moldy. Yes, it is a green tea, but Kashmiri tea leaves are a blueish black. The container is also not moldy or burnt. It is just bad packaging and the tea stains the paper seal. I transfer my tea to a mason jar when I open it.Now, as for the tea. Kashmiri tea when brewed is a reddish-brown. It will not turn pink unless you add milk. The instructions on the back aren't great, so here's my recipe:1) Measure 2 cups of water separately. In one cup, add ice cubes. Boil the other cup. Once boiling, add 2 tablespoons of Kashmiri leaves, 4 green cardamom pods, 2 whole cloves, 1 whole star anise, and a 1" piece of cinnamon.2) Add 1/8 teaspoon baking soda, reduce the heat, and stir consistently for about 5 minutes. The froth in the water should slowly turn from green to reddish-brown and the water will burn off rapidly. If it does not change colour, add another 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda until it does. I usually end up using about 1/3 teaspoon.3) Remove the ice cubes from the other cup of water and pour it into the pot. You should now have a red tea. Add 1 cup of milk, 1/2 cup half and half, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 2 tablespoons brown sugar. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, then strain the tea into cups.Boom, pink tea! Traditionally, pink tea is topped with crushed almonds and pistachios. Enjoy :)

Bitter aftertaste
I really love pink chai and could not find Kashmiri green tea at my local Indian grocer. This container is probably a bit too much for a single occasional chai drinker like me, but I suppose if you drink it everyday, it is probably a good size. This tea does produce a lovely pink hue when used to make pink chai, but I notice it does have a bit of a bitter aftertaste that I don't detect when enjoying the pink chai at our favorite Pakistani/Indian restaurant. I figured this must be because of how I am preparing the chai and I need to make some adjustments. I happened to pick up some Kashmiri green tea at another grocery store close to work, and there is no bitter aftertaste with that tea. So I concluded it must be a peculiarity of this brand of tea,Other people may not notice or may not mind, but it wasn't for me.

I saw a recipe on Tik Tok and You Tube, followed it 100% and it turned out great.
Item was delivered on time and I followed the following recipe.1. Start by boiling 2 ½ cups of water.2. Once the water is hot, add cardamom and cinnamon sticks. Cover and let it steep for 30 seconds.3. Stir in 2 teaspoons of tea leaves, cover again, and let it steep for another minute.4. Add a pinch of baking soda and simmer until the water turns a reddish hue. Turn off the heat and add a glass of ice to the tea mixture to cool it quickly.5. In a separate pan, boil milk (mix in some half-and-half for a creamier texture).6. Sweeten with sugar to taste and add a pinch of salt.7. Gradually pour in some of the tea mixture from the first pan, stirring until you achieve your desired color and flavor.8. Garnish with crushed pistachios or almonds and serve warm.

Kashmiri Pink Tea
This tea has quite the instructions and process to make it pink, because of that I opted not to follow the instructions and just brew it like I would loose leaf tea. It still produces a pinkish brown color by just brewing it with hot water from my espresso machine. The tea itself doesn't really taste like any green tea I've had before. It's not as strong or bold as a black tea, but it will definitely be strong if you brew it to instructions because it was strong by just letting it brew in my loose leaf tea cup for about 10 minutes. I added honey to my tea after removing the leaves, and it made a decent drink. The container came sealed and the tea looks/smells fine, but the lid was oddly burnt on the inside paper (maybe from heat sealing?).

tea leaves look moldy, inside of cap had burned marks or something else like that?
I don't know what to say about this product except that when it arrived it looked pretty questionable. I have purchased pink tea several times before and compared what I bought elsewhere to this brand. The color of this tea looks moldy and does not look like it should be consumed. Since this product cannot be returned, I just wasted my money. I would advise you buy another product and stay away from this one.
