The author is a Dutch floral artist who started selling gorgeous special occasion cakes with lifelike sugar flowers and transitioned to flower design and arrangements. She specializes in lush, ornate, classic old-fashioned flower arrangements often created with fresh flowers as well as sugar flowers to fill in when useful. In this book Ms Sadi gives detailed instructions on flower arranging and creating sugar flowers. The book would be a beautiful gift for a flower and design loving, creative friend. It is chock full of photos of her wonderful arrangements and their components. Highly recommended.If you can find somewhere to do so when you order, ask for the book to be bubble wrapped to protect it from banging around in the box it's shipped in.Around 246 pages. Beautiful. This is an elegant and well written masterpiece with stunning photography and a phenomenal wealth of information. It is an absolute pleasure to read in part because of its variety of topics. I will pour over its pages for decades to come.I expected only to look at the pictures and was immediately drawn into the beautiful personal and historical narrative the author shares which lovingly touches on many poignant topics from colonialism and identity to agriculture and baking. The author is a true genius and “Renaissance” woman. An absolute gem. Bravo!

A Sweet Floral Life gives you everything you could hope for about flowers and flower arranging and photographing flowers and creating magnificent sugar flowers. A visual treat from start to finish, beautifully written and edited.This book is next level exceptional. The compact art history and histories about the Netherlands and the author’s family gives this book a context and depth and a gravitas that I was not expecting. I bought it because I enjoy following the author on Instagram and knew the book would be beautiful to look at, but it is so much more than a pretty book…and I’m not going to spoil the thrill of discovery by saying any more!

If you love floral design and techniques this is the perfect book.

The amazing layers of art presented to us in Natasja Sadi's book, A Sweet Floral Life, are almost unbelievable in their richness and in the way they compound the magical beauty created by this uniquely gifted artist. The still life photography alone is that of a master, and the floristry is ethereal. But to then understand that some of the bountiful blossoms bursting with natural life are actually made by her hand from sugar can only be described as awe-inspiring.
