It's difficult to imagine a better thermometer, let alone a better thermometer for the price. As other reviewers have stated, it works well for a variety of purposes. It's also highly accurate (I tested it), intuitive, and really easy to read in the dark. Quiet mode is a great feature, as is the stored memory. It also takes readings really fast. Given all these product features, it almost feels silly to comment that Evenflo really put some thought into the ergonomics too. But every time I use the thermometer, I can't help but admire the engineering and design--the weight, texture, and feel of it; the placement of the buttons; the emphasis on readability and ease of use. What a great thermometer.

The quiet mode for nighttime use on this thermometer is so convenient when getting the temperature of my kids at night. This thermometer is also very smooth to the touch, it is by far the nicest thermometer we have had in our household. It is user friendly. It turns off when not in use and it has LCD light. It comes with batteries and we used it as soon as we got it. Evenflo always makes great products, I find myself always going back to this brand for its reliable products. I am once again, very happy with this purchase!

We bought this thermometer hoping to find a more accurate temporal thermometer and we were not disappointed. The thermometer is easy to use, one click to turn it on and one click to take a temperature. The backlit screen gives a quick indication concerning the severity of the fever. All the members of our family have learned how to use thermometer.It's versatile and can also be used to measure food and liquid temperatures. It's easy to switch between modes. The night mode silences the beep on the thermometer which is helpful when kids are asleep. I would highly recommend this product.

After testing the Evenflo PreciseRead thermometer, I can confirm that the accuracy and reliability is impressive! If accuracy and reliability matter to you, read reviews before you decide which forehead thermometer to purchase. On family members, I compared it to an oral thermometer and every time it was within 0.3°F. I got the same results when testing liquids compared to a significantly more expensive expensive Thermapen. I feel confident using this to measure liquids for a safe temperature and check my family’s forehead temperature with this thermometer.In addition, it’s super easy to use and has multiple settings you can customize such as switching between body or food/liquid temperate. You can also turn the beep on or off and switch between C or F. The color-coded feedback and the little emoji’s make it super easy to interpret results!

I have 2 other thermometers at home and wasn't happy with the inconsistent temperatures coming from them so I purchased this one! I am so glad that out of all of them online, I picked this! It has given me consistent temperatures every time and it is so clear to read. My favorite feature is the silent mode so I am able to sneak a temperature check in the middle of the night on my littles without them waking up from the beeping! It is so simple to use that my 4 year old uses it on himself! I obviously double check to make sure it was an accurate read and it has been even for him doing it on his own forehead! Very happy customer here and definitely recommend!

I received this thermometer as a replacement for one that gave me random readings. My kids are always sick, so I need a reliable one on hand. Out of the box it gives very reliable readings down the the decimal. When I did it on my head it was 97.7, my daughter was 98.3 and back to me and it was exactly 97.7 again. Easy to use, no issues at all. I can tell it will last much longer than my last one when gave me different readings each time I used it. I am going to recommend it to my kid's daycare since I know theirs doesn't work well either.

Maybe I’m the only one using this thermometer wrong, but it is not accurate at all. In fact, I’ve taken my husband’s temperature consecutively without either of us moving and each time the temperature reading is different. It also skews low. My daughter had a fever of 101+ as read by our in ear thermometer and the fever didn’t register at all with this one.

The back lighting and silent sleeping child mode are awesome, but how accurate is this unit? In comparison to a traditional thermometer, I never saw a difference greater than 0.3 deg F which is impressive considering this takes temperatures within seconds as opposed to +30, and has way more features like color coding, auto power off, memory storage, etc. A big upgrade over traditional thermometers.In comparison to my industrial thermocouple, I tested water and coffee and got great correlation. Make sure you take measurements ~ 1" away, or you can get readings outside of the 5% accuracy. I measured a bunch of surfaces and foods. Some were spot on others not so much. This is a common theme with all non contact thermometers so depending on how critical your food temperature measurements are, a traditional food thermometer might be better suited. Overall, I think this is a great thermometer.
