works well when you understand how to use
Brilliant device once i mastered the the proper set up and sound recognition .the instruction manual is pretty useless but there are plenty of you tube videos which are excellent. Saved me whole lot of grief digging around for a damaged guide wire in my lawn!

With a little patience and perseverance, this gets the job done!I Wasted hours trying to track broken boundary wire using AM radio.Don't waste your time, get this!

Bargain
Yes it’s a bit plasticky, but it does the job. Found the break in a 700m long underground dog fence and I saved £465 for the call out charge from the installer to fix it. £42 bargain.

Accurate tracing through a ceiling.
Worked perfectly. Traced wires in a ceiling that had been plastered over so the could be pulled down and connect up. So accurate we caught the wire as we drilled up. We'll worth the money.

Doesn't Work
DON'T BUY THIS. Use an AM pocket radio. AM Pocket radio works great. Get AM radio with an aerial. Pull out the aerial and touch the ground until signal stops.

Phew!
After pacing around for an hour trying to find a boundary wire break for my robot lawnmower (Worx) with the AM radio method... 5 mins with this and I found it. Sigh. Excellent.
