efficiant, quite, good value,
I installed this fan in my loft, with the vent about 400mm from my shower head, it shifts a lot of air quickly at a reasonable noise level. I only run it for about 12 minutes (the timer can be adjusted) to clear my large bathroom with no problems.I wired this to my light switch. connections are: N = Negative L = permanent live Lt = switched live. There is also a fourth terminal called L1L2 which is used for a speed controller if purchased separately. At the time of fitting, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it

Not cheap, but well worth it.
I bought one of these even though it was more than twice (nearly 3 times) the cost of replacing the ceiling mounted fan that it replaced ... and I'm glad that I did. See update below. The reason is that we often have very steamy showers and baths in my house and because the duct goes through a cold loft, it gets condensation in the duct, which then trickles down the duct and eventually ends up in the electrics of ceiling mounted fans. They tend to only last a couple of years and often need replacement - so often that I've modified the flexible duct so that any new fan simply pops into place and I don't have to worry about fitting the flexi duct to the fan itself. This particular unit has all the electrics and fan well above any point where condensation is likely to form into a pool. I'm hoping the important bits will stay dry for years and of course any pools of condensation that may form will evaporate between uses, well at least in warmer weather. In use this fan is much quieter than a standard ceiling mounted one and has a much higher flow than any standard 4" ceiling mounted extractor fans as the motor is well away from the bathroom itself. This item is essentially a 6" fan in a housing, which tapers to allow the fitting of 4" (flexible) duct. The electrics are top mounted, easily accessible and can be wired in with the motor part separated from the housing itself. Once wired in, which in my case was done in a part of the loft with a bit more headroom, it can be easily popped into the mount/duct and fixed with 2 clips which themselves had extra screws so they wouldn't pop off. This was very handy for me as I needed to fix the mount in an awkward spot with very little headroom. However it isn't completely idea and could stand a couple of improvements:1) The cable entry & grommet is only suitable for fairly small round flex whereas I used 1.5mm two way lighting cable as it needs a switched live, live and neutral, though being double insulated it doesn't need an earth - 1a) An unconnected fixing for the earth would also be helpful.2) It could really benefit from a one way valve either building in, or included to go into the chosen vent (preferably the intake as I didn't use an outlet as I already had on on the existing duct). Fortunately for me, I was able to re use (with a minor modification) the one I had from the unit before the one this replaced. In conclusion, not cheap, not perfect, but very good and well worth it.Update: After a few weeks of use, my partner & I very impressed with both how quiet it is compared to the surface mounted fan it replaced, and how much greater the airflow & efficiency is - definitely a good idea with larger bathrooms if you have room for it. Sadly because of the issues outlined above (no one way flap, small cable entry) I still won't give it 5*, but pretty close.

Very happy with extraction rate
Replacing an old bathroom fan that was failing, this is much better and copes well with the steam from an electric shower.First you fit the "holder" then pop in the fan unit. The timer is variable, but there is no scale so there is guess work involved.Let's hope it last longer than the last one.

Nice and quiert, and powerful
I took ages to work out what would replace my noisy ceiling-mounted fan, and am really pleased I chose this. It is big, which made installing in a small roof void difficult, but fixing is very easy and the separate bracket helps. Most importantly, it is really quiet when operating and is still powerful enough to remove condensation. Just what I wanted.

Motor doesn’t work
I had a election come today to fit all this and the motor doesn’t work it’s totally dead and the electrician even tested it and nothing was there, we have got got everything fitted and ducted out and the electrician got it all wired up and nothing worked from the motor, so obviously the motor is the let down. I have emailed the seller and I haven’t heard anything back. I emailed to see if they would send me another motorSo hopefully they will send me another one. Happy with what the electrician did, but shame about how the motor wasn’t working and not happy about this.
