We recently underwent a kitchen renovation and when our contractor replaced our old recessed lights, there was a small gap around the bezel due to the old hole being a tiny bit bigger than the flange on the new lighting (new lights were 6"). Some of the other oops rings were quite large and I didn't care for the looks. These worked like a champ and saved my contractor's butt big time. While I wish we didn't need to use them at all, they were a quick and easy way to fix his mistake.

20+ years ago when I installed can lights throughout my basement I cut the holes perfectly in the drop ceiling tiles. Those cans used a huge trim ring - about 2" of trim around the opening. I just replaced all of my cans with various new LED shallow / disc fixtures and the light is great but for some models they are just barely larger than the hole required to mount them, and the lights are not just recessed they are going into the tile... I didn't want to mess around cutting new holes and/or trying to match 22 year old ceiling tiles so enter these goof rings. My photo is with the light off so the ring can actually be seen. In actual use, with the light on, who the heck but you is ever going to look at the light? I slapped a few rings up and am getting on with life. The goof ring is exactly what I need to upgrade new 6" LED lights in old 7" recessed cans. The problem is, that the rings I received had a larger inner diameter (6.25") than is described on Amazon's product page (5.85"). The difference in diameter doesn't sound like much on paper but when I tried to use these rings, I would literally have to glue them to the light fixture to prevent the ring from being noticeably off-center. I re-ordered twice for a total of THREE attempts to receive a product as described on this page. No such luck. Weeks have gone by, mostly in waiting for replacements and dealing with returns and we still don't have a practical solution in place. Very disappointed.
