A really good beginner to mid level set, smooth and dries without cracks
I want to give these 5 stars, but they're actually a 4-4.5. I had been wanting to use Meeden's cheaper craft/child version for students but decided on these for making kits. They have just a few issues-but I fell in love with these paints. They are very lovely and I'm highly recommending them to beginners and crafters especiallyPro:-Lots of paint in these tubes!-Pigment information right on the packaging-Easily mixed-Good range of colors that aren't similar to each other-Very good pigment load on colors, smooth and easy to use dry or wet-Pigment choices are spot on and very good looking!-Single pigment paints in a budget line! Amazing!-Their Scarlet is especially beautiful and if you like Pyrrole red, it's a very close contender!-Many of these colors are just spot on to what I expect from that pigment-They did not crack when I put them in pans-Lifted greatCons:-A little chalky (not excessively-but you can tell there's some extenders in there. It's very evident in their Pale green/Deep green which are mixes.-They don't move very far/Travel in water-this can mean that if you are fond of blends the colors can abruptly stop and dry strangely or jaggedly-Not as pigmented as brand names, so they can be a little bit pale when they've dried down-Some of their colors are a little bit off the mark: Gamboge is a little cool (this can be remedied with a little more orange since it's a mix), Their Prussian is just a phthalo blue with a violet shift that just looks like Phtahalo not prussian. I love to use a Phthalo blue vs Prussian but it's a con because I wonder why not just use it by itself with a single pigment color-it ends up not looking like Prussian at all if that's what you were looking for.-ONE too many violets and one of them is too deep. Their violet is a little too deep for me-it's more of a royal purple and the bright violet should be more of a lilac-but adding white to it makes me happy.-One too many yellows-The Pale yellow inclusion is a little confusing to me since there is Gamboge and the pale yellow/Gamboge sit too similarly to me. You could use the pale yellow to mix though if you enjoy a mixing yellow.---Overall, I've been raving about these paints to art teachers and friends because it's quickly become a favorite! I don't think it'll be great for doing pieces for sale unless you scan first but for this price? Absolutely get them!

Good beginner set of watercolors
This is a really nice set of inexpensive water color paints . The tubes are big! Just about any color that a beginner would need. I hate to say just for a beginner because the quality of the paints is not bad at all! I found the colors to be vibrant . I did a swatch card and the colors seem true to their names . I did a quick watercolor post card sketch and the paints behaved well . Washes were easy, I probably had the paints a bit too watered down so they look pale on the postcard. I did do an extra tiny sketch as an afterthought on some scrap paper to test the vibrancy of the warmer colors . They seem fine. Might stain the paper pretty quickly so I’m not sure how well the color would lift when needed .Everyone has their favorite paints ..me included. And all paints behave differently. My thoughts are that these are good beginner or intermediate paints for an art student or amateur like myself. I’m sure I’ll be using them to practice techniques .Definitely a good value for the money.

24 tubes of joy!
I enjoy painting, it’s just a hobby that lets me relax.I have not used watercolors in quite a while so when this set came in my vine feed I had to get it. And I am so glad - there are 24 tubes of pigmented joy in there. The paint flows easily, no caking, no drying out. I only needed a tiny amount of red, blue and green to start up the flowers. The colors are vivid, mix easily and flow and spread perfectly. If you are a hobby painter like me you will be happy with this nice 24 tube set!

NICE PAINTS - LOUSY CAPS
Nice student grade paints. Nice color selection. But one BIG problem - the caps break very easily. I'm careful to clean the tube and inside the cap when replacing so they won't get stuck. However, if they do stick, if you put any pressure on the cap to try to get it off, the little connector strips of plastic connecting the wide top of the cap to the more narrow screw on part break, so then the cap won't seal and sometimes after only a couple uses. I have arthritis in my hands so I'm not exactly putting gorilla pressure on these. Bad design. Just use a regular cap. These are decent paints but won't be any good if dried out.

I'm no expert, but pretty good for a beginner!
I'm pretty new to watercolor painting myself so I can't really offer any opinion on how these compare with any kind of professional grade paints etc. But I will say that for a beginner these are perfect. I've mixed colors with acrylics before but am new to it for watercolors so I appreciate that this set comes with a wide range of different colors in case you're not comfortable just yet with making your own.
