These are the best chalks I have ever found. It comes as no surprise they are being used at my University too.

These chalks are absolutely great. What I like about them is that they write smoothly on my board without scratching, they are sensitive to pressure, and then when you use the board duster, the board becomes clean, free from visible scratch marks and for the most part, leaving the board ready for use without the need of a wet cloth.I would love to have awarded five stars for these Giotto Robercolor White Dustless Chalk sticks which are great value for money but I have one criticism, namely they are not as white as chalks of other brands that I have used in the past. In fact, they are a variety of colors including yellows, reds, greens, blues and even browns. This has some positive advantages and is making my board writing much more colorful. On the other hand I hope one day to find some White Dustless Chalk that is more white looking.A clue for the mysterious off-white nature of the chalk that I have received can be found on the box it comes in. Unlike the picture next to my review the box says 'color' 'couleur' 'colorati' 'colorido'. Even the pictures of the chalk on the box provide forewarning of the off white nature of the contents.

As expected

Bought two boxes of the white sticks after being so pleased with the Giotto coloured sticks. So many people playing bowls lick the end of the chalk stick to get it to work but that can't be good for you so I refuse to do it! I've struggled with lots of brands of cheap chalk and always been frustrated you have to steady the bowl and press on really hard while vigorously rubbing the chalk on the bowl to get it to make a mark ... not great when you aren't meant to move the bowl! I was really pleased and a little surprised to find this chalk works really well straight away without any pressure or having to make it wet. I purchased a set of the Giotto chalk holders too and they make a great combination together.The coulered box was pristine and all sticks appeared to be unbroken whilst the boxes for the white ones were a little tatty and there were a few sticks broken in the box but they were a good price so I'm happy.

The chalk are good quality but I have found too many broken pieces in the two boxes that I've bought. The result is that I am faced with lots of wastage.
