Awesome little rod and reel
Love this thing so much! I got it for my 13 year old to practice casting whenever he wants and it’s already his favorite “toy”. Spend hours goofing off anywhere you go by just attaching a hookless lure (We just cut the hooks off an old one). The reel is prestrung with 3lb line and super easy to string with the wires provided. The reel itself is tiny as you can tell in the picture with the AA battery to show size. Definitely a perfect choice for any fisherman who wants to have the real thing to practice and play with.

It's a fun little rod and reel to play with and it COULD actually catch fish
When I first got it I threaded the included line through the pole and tried several test casts with a small weight. I just couldn't get it to cast well, the line kept binding up in the reel.I replaced the included 3# mono with cheap OMNI brand 4# line (cause that's what I found on the shelf at the local Wal-Mart) and it casts pretty well now. I mean, it's a tiny little reel so there just isn't enough line on it to go very far with it. I can basically cast it all the way down to the spool now though so at least my example seems like it can be set up to cast pretty well. The design is clever. It's ultra compact and with the line running internally there is very little to get tangled up. I really like the internally threaded design. It is a little tricky to get it threaded up. The included wires for fishing the line through were easy to use. However the included weights were NOT really usable on this set-up. The weights are too long to fit in between the reel and the rod tubing opening so I couldn't get them started to thread, they need to be a little shorter. That's a bit of a shame because it would be useful for re-threading "in the field" and they fit into a little built in container in the rod. I'll probably try to cut one down to fit and work better. The overall build quality and materials are really very good for what it is, and it all feels good in the hand. The compact reel comes with some limitations.. due to its size, and some cheap internal construction. It just doesn't hold much line. I find the drag is really tricky, it has a very narrow band where turning the dial actually changes the drag and it goes quickly from nothing to too much drag. On 3-4# line fine tuning the drag is kind of important so It would be nice to have finer and more usable adjustments here. Lastly, the 2.3:1 gear ratio feels super slow, so being used to larger reels with higher ratios it feels like it takes forever to reel in. I can see that as probably just a product of how tiny the reel is? I feel the reel more than anything else is what holds this micro combo back from being anything more than a toy.So... could you fish with it? I think you could. I could see bringing in stocked trout and small panfish with it. If you accidentally hook onto anything significant though you better hold on tight so it can break your line or you'll loose the toy! It really is obviously made as more of a toy than anything else though. If I actually wanted to fish, even if I were backpacking, I feel there are better options to carry than this rig.ProFISHiency actually makes the same basic design of internally threaded rod but a little bigger, which they call their pocket combo. I think that would be more effective for ACTUAL light fishing vs. this mini pocket combo (the reel size on their regular pocket combo is similar to a Zebco 33 MICRO with a 4.1:1 ratio). I like the design concept enough that I think I'll be picking one of those up in the near future. The Zebco Telecast collapsible rod plus a Zebco 33/Zebco 33 micro is a great set-up (tried and true) for a pack-in or in the truck combo with a closed face reel. I have two of these and they work great for these purposes. There are plenty of other collapsible rods and compact set-ups that are made for packing in and more with actual fishing in mind if that is what you are looking for.As a fun little thing to goof around with though (which I think is the intent more than actual fishing), I like this. So I'm giving it 4 stars with that in mind. In spite of its negatives I still think it would be a well received gift or stocking stuffer by most folks that fish. I like playing with it.

Fantastic little fishing rod
This little rod is capable of catching trout and many other fish. Tested it on YouTube and I was able to catch a trout through the ice and in open water! Recommend to anyone who wants a laugh while fishing!

The product is damaged and cannot be used
I have purchased the brand's products multiple times, but this time it was a bad shopping experience. I received a product that cannot be used, but upon opening it, it was found to be broken. I am a buyer from China, but unfortunately, the shipping cost for purchasing is too high. The cost of after-sales returns and exchanges is too high.多次购买该品牌产品,但是这一次是不太好的购物体验,收到货物一件商品无法使用,拆开发现是已经坏了,我是来自中国的买家,遗憾的是购买运输成本太高。售后退换货成本太高。

This really is a "Mini Pocket Combo" fishing rod and reel
I have several other "Profishiency" products and have been very happy with them all thus far. First of all, this is a fully functioning rod and reel combo, just miniaturized. My first thought after receiving this Mini Combo was that it would be perfect to keep in the truck or as a backup for one of the kids when we go fish the river after the DNR releases trout into the rivers here in NC. The second thing that came to mind was using this as an extra ice fishing setup, as it is very similar in size. Either way, the combo fits easily into any of my regular backpacks and will definitely accompany me on both camping and fishing trips from now on. Two stars off because the price is too close in my opinion to their regular pocket combo setup, which I feel has more overall utility value than the mini. Also, not sure about having this in the office as it might attract unwanted attention, otherwise it is a great little setup.

GREAT CAT TOY!!
My girl loves it! However, the reel mechanism partially gave out after about 8-9 months of use. It's her favorite though, so I'm going to buy another one- I got the first as a gift. I tie a crinkle foil ball on the end (tedious I know) and she goes bananas. Highly recommended. It comes with threaders in case the line breaks, they're in compartment that screws open
