Great cork mats, finally found these.They are natural and suit anything.

Recommend these they look nice and nice quality. Nice and thick should resist heat well.

Good thickness, smooth surface, flexible-enough (it's still cork), rounded edgesspend longer than i'd like to admit trying to find a set of palce-matts to my tastes."settled" for cork as it's grippy withough being tacky, a fairly neutreal colour, good value and easily cleaned/replaced (especially at the price for this set)Cork can be coarse or have the edges crumble or split apart when done on the cheap, glad to say this is not such a product.Hopefully the longevity will be decent but I can't imagine it being anywhere near as bad as the pvc/felt/handkerchief-style/plastic-backed/stone-like(scratch central)/rubber-ish/curling-cardboard-filled-not-leather.The lacquered-pattern on cork types still tempt but, grip. Ok, getting flashbacks, time to stop this.

Lovely Portuguese cork. Stops heat from getting through to the table. Look good. Very practical

Great value for money and after contemplating purchasing much more expensive versions I am very pleased with my choice. I’m unsure how durable they will prove to be but so far I’m very satisfied.

Nice, well made cork mats, with nicely rounded edges That make them easy to handle. Surface is dense enough they are relatively easy to clean. Very nice.

Good quality cork mats. However, my usage was a bit different than tableware. I needed to glue things to glass and did not want any scratches from the clamps. Using cork to even the pressure and not causing scratching was the solution. The cork cuts easily with a sharp knife. So for hobbies this cork is excellent.

I used this to make some pretty placemats. I cut some scrapbook paper ( or you could use a thicker wrapping paper) to the right size and stuck it to the placemats and coasters using Modpodge. PVA would work too. Once dry I sprayed 3 layers of varnish, leaving them to dry in between coats. You could use a liquid varnish, but test a bit on a scrap of paper first and do a couple of thin coats. They're not suitable for really hot dishes and plates, but fine for general eating and mugs of tea. You can gently wipe them clean with a damp cloth and leave to dry. You could also use stick back plastic (a marble design would be fantastic) and photos, though do remember to test the varnish on a spare bit first. I'm going to use some fabric next time. They look really pretty and you could make Christmas, Halloween and Easter ones too.
