Sturdy Bed Rail but One Big Problem
Sangohe MUST make a second video showing how this bed rail can be installed on the left side of the bed. That is, the left side when viewing the bed from the foot of the bed. The bed rail is set up to be fit on the right side of the bed when it comes out of the box. They call this right side installation Option A in the manual. However, installing the rail on the left side of the bed (Option B in the manual) requires the customer to disassemble the hinges that allow the bed rail to fold down. It appears that the hinges need to be flipped over and then installed on the opposite legs of the bed rail. But how exactly to do this correctly is not at all clear from the figures or text found in the manual.

Sturdy safety rail
This safety rail was recommended by a physical therapist for my mom‘s bed after she had a hip replacement surgery. It was not really to keep her from falling out of bed, but mainly to help her climb up into the bed as she’s working on regaining her strength. It’s strong and sturdy, does not wobble or move around as she pulls herself up onto the bed or is able to step off of the bed holding on to the railing. It gives her a sense of security. We won’t need it forever, but it was a wonderful recommendation from the physical therapist as an aid to help her in her recovery process. It was easily assembled and slid between the mattress and the boxspring. The handle itself can be lengthened or shortened, depending on where you want the railing to sit. I would not write necessarily recommend this railing for a small child’s bed. The opening of the railing itself seems as if a small child could slip through the railing or worse get their head caught. But to be used as an aid in an adult bed, it is perfect. While still allowing room to climb onto and off the bed. I highly recommend this rail if someone needs assistance getting into and out of a bed at needs assistance

sturdy and easy to operate
This product is very sturdy and as advertised. I do wish it was a bit taller as we have a 13" mattress but it is just high enough to help prevent accidental bed ejection. It was easy to put together once I found a tube video. The directions that come with it and the video on amazon are not helpful. Once I viewed the tube video it was a snap. This is the title of the page....504E change foldeing side

Not a good choice if you must use it on the left side of the bed.
Unless you have a degree in engineering, avoid this like the plague. It is set up to go on the right side of the bed, but if you need to use it on the left side...heaven help you. The instructions are not clear, and even with illustrations, it was futile to try to make sense of them. We give up...sending it back.

Shipment included the wrong parts
If you have the time and skill, this is a great product. I would give it 5 stars BUT. After getting my wife home from the hospital, it was very clear that I needed to get some bed rails to help keep her from falling out of bed. After looking and a bunch of them on Amazon and other sources, I settled on this one. I kept her wheelchair sideways by the bed as a temporary measure to help keep her in bed while we waited for delivery. The product arrived, undamaged and on time. That's the good news. There is a sort of loop that you need to assemble. It slides underneath the mattress. There is a hex/allen wrench tool included. You use it to tighten three screws that are fitted with wing nuts. I am guessing that the tool is included so that you can tighten the screws more than you might with say a phillips head screw. Turns out the screws included are 1/4 24. The wing nuts included are 10/32. Nope those things don't fit together. Additionally, 1/4 24 screws are two big to fit through the holes in the frame members. Since I really wanted this put together, I elected to go to a local hardware store in search of parts rather than use their customer service function. I have no direct experience with their customer service function and therefore cannot offer an opinion, good or bad. The hardware store did have some screws with hex heads in 10/32. Unfortunately the longest is 1 inch and the screws need to be 1 1/4. So, I ended up with phillips head screws and the included tool is worthless. My wife sleeps on the left side of the bed (standing at the front). The handrail comes partially assembled. Following the instructions, I assembled the unit only to find that when installed it collapses/folds toward the bed not the floor. The instructions do not address how to get the bedrail to fold the other direction. Initially, I installed it with the slanted portion of the handrail toward the feet rather than toward the head so that we could use it that night. The next day, I figured out how to switch it. The instructions have pictures of the handrail installed on the right side of the bed with the slanted portion pointing to the head. On the back of the instructions, there is a picture of the bed rail installed on the left side of the bed with the slanted portion facing the head. This was encouraging and I was eventually able to figure it out. One of the last things to do is to "insert part (K) into the corresponding hole" when connecting the handrail kit to the frame that goes to the floor and under the mattress. Nope. You get 4 part (K) (C-type buckle). Two of them are used to adjust the size of the handrail. Two are to fix the hand rail to the base. They fit the holes provided in the handrail but did not fit the holes in the base. Yes, I made sure the holes were properly aligned. I used a phillips screwdriver that is only slightly smaller than the holes. Finally, I used a drill to make the holes large enough to accept part (K). Now that it is assembled and we have used it for two days, I can truthfully say I like it. I would like the handrail to be a bit taller but this works. One more thing, the kit also included four 1 1/4 inch phillips head wood screws and a fabric strap with buckle. Have no idea what those are for. Nothing mentioned in the instructions. The instructions include "Tips: If you do not know how to install please see the installation video teaching; And if you have any questions please contact our customer service". Video is not included. You can probably find it in the product info on Amazon or on YouTube. No idea how to contact customer service other than Amazon. Country of origin is not specified, but you probably can guess.

Change in height to mattress.
When I used it the way the directions gave, the top bar was only about 4 inches above the mattress. Once I looked at the Bed Rail next to the bed I realized that if I moved the bar that goes under the mattress to the bottom part of the legs I could gain 6 to 8 inches of height, raising the guard rail well above the mattress as is shown in the picture. Now my wife has lots of protection to keep her from falling out of bed. After reading a lot of the negative reviews I realized that the reviews that referred to the bed rail would only fit on one side of the bed did not realize that all you need to do is take the part that fits under the bed and reverse to, it then will fit on the other side of the bed, very easy but not intuitive. The instructions need to be a lot clearer on fitting the rail to either side of the bed.Another issue referred to putting the under the mattress part. You need to make sure that you put these pieces together exactly as the instructions indicate our it will not fit onto the legs. All in all the only issue is what I discussed at the start of my review related on how to raise the bed rail above even the largest mattress, which the instructions do not show.Other than the above discussion the product deserves a 5 star....
