Worth its weight in gold. Incredible value and quality.
TLDR - This is an outstanding setup, and could not be happier. I have run out of things to sharpen for the first time ever. Everyone with beveled edge knives should have one.Ruxin - WELL DONE!!!I have had a few knife sharpeners over the years, including the worthless previous ruxin plastic model with suction cup and ball joint. I was tempted to go else where this time, but the new model looked workable. Its all metal and has proper clamping this time for both the blade and the guide itself.I'm shocked at the improvement over previous models. There is simply no comparison. This thing is amazing and a steal for its going price. Sharpening is a breeze now as the guide bar has limiters now to prevent you from pulling to far, and the stones are even easier to attach than before. The knife clamp is a massive improvement as it frees up your other hand and keep your fingers from getting ground off on passes. It also is perfect for holding the angle. Flipping the blade results in a satisfying thump as it locks back into place for honing the other side. There are some minor issues, such as:The screws for locking down the blade are a bit tough to work with and hurts your fingers after 10-15 knives. YES 10-15! in one sitting. With older systems i was lucky to get two done before I was too frustrated to continue. The thumb screws for the blade clamps back-out regularly too, so keep an eye on that as it causes thing to wobble.Don't forget to lubricate that bearing. It starts to gum up after a few knives. I use food safe silicon oil.10/10

Makes for some sharp knives
A bit complicated to use at first but after a few videos and some practice on some older knives the end result was fantastic. Plan on buying some better whetstones because the provided set won’t last. I used the diamond whetstones. You’ll also need an angle finder, some people use the phone with the app but I decided to buy a proper one. Enjoyed the using it to make some razor sharp knives. Good product.

Functional and precise knife sharpening
I’m not a professional chef or knife fanatic but I do enjoy cooking and appreciate a sharp knife. I’ve been using wet stones and have inconsistent results. I get sharp knives but the sharpness varies along the edge. With the sharpening tool I’ve been able to get more accurate angles and consistency from my knives. Granted there are limits of this tool but for the money you get precision and consistency during the sharpening process. The unit comes in its own compact case and is easy to setup. Main base assembly clamps to a table top or work bench. Stone arm is two pieces that join end to end with thumb screw. Post screws into base and locks in with thumb screws. Sets up in minutes. Plenty of adjustments with the knife clamp, stone arm and post. Smooth actuation pulling the stone across the blade. The knife clamp easily flips blade 90 and 180 degrees to sharpen both sides of the blade without removing the knife from the fixture. Note I headed comments from other users about buying a set of diamond stones and have not regretted that purchase. I also ended up getting a good digital angle finder to accurately zero the blade and then set the stone angle. I recently used 17-18 degrees (typical for Japanese knives) and got great results. One more thing. Learn how to use a leather strop to hone the blade to razor edge. You can easily spend more money from other vendors for the same unit so be careful when looking at included parts and features.

inexpensive sharpening system with serious flaws
Came with the sharpening system in a box, and 2 sets of stones. The instructions are pretty useless, especially for setting the blade angle. I figured it out on my own. You need to get the angle of the arm, zero it, then get the angle for the stone arm.First the stones. They don't cut especially well, but that might be a benefit to beginners. Also the rated grit seems lower than what's stated. The 3k is about the same as a 800-1000 japanese stone. The sharpener has 2 big flaws. 1. the pivot. It moves around fine but the arm going through it meets a lot of resistance. I oiled the arm and the rubber bushing, but it doesn't really help. This is really annoying when you try to get into the groove of smooth movements using the full length of the stone. 2. second major issue is the blade holder. The angle varies way too much every time you flip. It started out as less than a degree and gradually got to around 1.5 degrees. not precise enough. you have to reset the angle each time.for 35 its worth trying to see if sharpening your own blades is something you'd like to do. for me this isn't worth it because the stone arm cannot move smoothly back and forth and the blade arm does not hold a consistent angle
