Solid, High Quality Tool for Professional Use
This drill/driver arrived in its own tough storage case. It’s a bare tool and no battery or charger is supplied.Although described as ‘compact’ it’s a bit heavier and larger than most drill/drivers in this class. That said, it’s very well balanced and feels good in the hand. The chuck is all metal and there is a rotating torque control ring just behind it. Direction is reversed with the usual sliding switch behind the trigger. There are two bright white LEDs (one above the trigger and one on the base) that light the work area.I haven’t had this tool long enough to comment on its long term performance but the durability of Hilti tools is legendary and this looks and feels like it will last for years even in a professional environment where it’ll be used all day every day. It’s supplied as a body only tool so if you don’t already have any Hilti tools you’ll need to purchase a battery and charger separately which will set you back at least another couple of hundred pounds. This is a solid and well made tool but it’s firmly aimed at professionals. By the time you’ve bought a battery and charger for it (if needed) it’ll end up costing you close to £500. This is probably worth it for a professional that will use it day in day out but for a DIYer there are similar tools available at a much lower cost that will be fine for occasional use.Whether the durability of this tool justifies its cost is impossible to judge until I’ve used it more and fully tested its capabilities so it gets four stars for now and I may adjust this up or down when I’ve had it long enough to fully assess it.

Built to last.
First Hilti for me.I own a few compact drills from a well known competitor,so I will review this by comparison.First ,the price:for £300 I will probably get 3 the same from the competitors. The quality build:Hilti seems to be the real heavy-duty tool ,much better protected and assembled.Power:about the same,Hilti it’s cooling better in tough condition(62Nm).Battery:better output from Hilti thanks to the Nuron technology.Weight:1.4 kg for Hilti ,1.1kg for the most compact I have with the difference that Hilti has a full metal chuck .Dimensions:relatively bigger than others from this category but the handling it’s somehow better due to a excellent balanced weight distribution.Reliability:A plus for Hilti.Active torque control,LED work light and fast drilling and driving.Overall excellent quality build, extreme protection technology and great power but unless it will last forever, the price it’s not great compared to the others from the category.
